VOl. 101 NO. 71 ALGONA, IOWA, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 1966 Section Two LuVerne Circles Plan A Smorgasbord Sept. 29 LUVERNE - Circles of the Women's Society of Christian Service met Wednesday, Sept. 7. Each circle completed plans for the smorgasbord, Sept. 29. Circle 1 met with Mrs. Chester Sill co-hostess. Devotions by Mrs. Ralph Davidson and the lesson, Mrs. Duane Neal. Mrs. Lichty, chairman, presidedatthe business meeting. Grace Lichty of Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Melinda Frenz of Mason City, mother of Mrs. Theodore Johnson, were guests. Circle 2 met at the home of Mrs. Frances Shorey. Devotions were led by Mrs. Percy Brink, and Mrs. Clara McClellan gave the lesson. Mrs. Cliff Bjustrom, chairman, presided, and Mrs. Tressa Lee of Morris, Minn., was a guest. Circle 3 m et at the home of Mrs. Bryan Stewart. Devotions were led by Myrtle Jordan, and the lesson by Mrs. Ralph Stoll. Mrs. Stewart, vice chairman, presided. Mrs. LarumaKanwischer of Waseca, Minn., aunt of Rev. Roy Biesemeyer, was a guest. - o- AUXILIARY MET The American Auxiliary unit met at the LuVerne town hall with 15 members present. Mrs. Allen Blake, president, presided. She gave a report of the recent county meeting at Ledyard. A past president pen was presented to Mrs. Owen Curry by Mrs. Blake. The poppy order for 600 small and 100 large poppies has been placed by the chairman, Mrs. Bryan Stewart. The next county meeting will be held Nov. 8 at Lone Rock. Entertainment was in charge of Mrs. Frank Gronbach and Mrs. Marie Johnson. Hostesses were Mrs. Ralph Davidson and Mrs. Nels Jensen. - o Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kubly, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Marty, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kubly, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Miller, LuVerne; and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ruberg of Ft. Dodge attended the open house Sunday, Sept. 4, honoring the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Kubly at Madelia, Minn. - o- J. J. CLUB MET The J. J. Club held its first meeting of the club year with a pot-luck covered distrluncheon at the LuVerne town park, Sept. 9. Business followed, conducted by the new president, Mrs. Albert Hefti. Five dollars was voted for each — the Community Chest drive and the LuVerne Planning Council. Grace Lichty, a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, visiting in LuVerne, was a guest. George Schnetzer took his daughter to LeMars where she enrolled at Westmar College. Connie was a 1966 graduate of the LuVerne Community High School. A Krause reunion was held at the LuVerne town hall Sunday, Sept. 4. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hunt were elected as president and secretary for the 1967 reunion.
