Aug. 11. 1976, Flint Center announces array of performing arts events First 'in-house A wide spectrum of the perform' ihg arts, ranging from opera and $iime to flamenco guitar and gos-' pel singing, was announced today for the 1976-77 season in Flint -Center, on the De Anza College, campus, Cupertino. The season is the first series produced in house by Flint Center director Kim Chase ami foe Foothill Community Colleges Office of Community Services.

-1 Previously, most of the professional performing arts events at Flint were booked in by outside Commercial producers or concert managers. In addition, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra will continue its Flint Center series, which has become a tradition on the Peninsula music scene. Ten concerts are planned by foe orchestra this season, beginning in December. Community performing groups, based at the college or in the area also will continue to give concerts Lime, Brazilian classical guitarist (Dec 5); Andres Segovia (Feb. 6) Flamencist Carlos Montoys (March 27); and classicist Turan-Mirza Kamel (April 24).

The Armchair Traveler will re turn to Flint on Sundays at pjn. This seasons line-up is at follows: Austria, narrated by Did Reddy (Oct 3); New Zealand, nar rated by Stan La Rue (Nov. 7) Asian Wonderlands, narrated bj John M. Goddard (Dec 5); The Pacific Northwest, narrated bj Stan Midgley (Jan. 16); Six Gate ways to foe Caribbean," narratec by Eric Pavel (Feb.

27); Johr Muirs High Sima, narrated by DeWitt Jones (March 20); Ireland narrated by Chris Borden (Apri 17); and Scandinavian Medley, narrated by Hjordis Kittel ParkeT (May 22). The new in-house season put together by Chase and his staff offers four new series in addition to the familiar film travelogue series, Armchair Chase said the new series were designed to provide a program of variety and high quality at the lowest possible cost The four new series, with their performers and dates, are; Jazz Series, a balance of individual and big band performers, which includes Odetta (Oct 23) Louis BeUaon Big Band Explosion (Dec. 4), the Newport Jazz Festival All Stars (Feb. 23) and Thad JonesMel Lewis Orchestra (March 26).

Dance series, with both mod-em and ballet dance forms are represented. The Murray Louis Dance Company will open the series on Oct 30, followed by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (Nov. 20), Lotte Goslars Pantomime Circus (Feb. 5), and the Don Redlich Dance Company (April 9), 1977. The Louis Goslar and Redlich companies also will provide master dance classes and lecture-demonstrations before performances.
