The iirst pony express rider arrived in Sacramento from St. Joseph, Missouri, in April, 1860. Improvement District Is Wanted In Leggett District Attorney and Mrs. James Busch and County Superintendent of Schools John W. Taylor attended a meeting of the Leggett Valley Improvement Club on Friday night of last week. There were approximately 100 persons in attendance who listened attentively to an explanation of laws covering the organization of community improvement districts, explained by Mr. Busch. Mr. Taylor explained the uses of school property for community purposes. An interesting skit was given by a number- of girls. Mrs. Jessie Buick of Cummings is president of the community club. Mrs. Mabel Hunt presided at the Friday meeting. A 7 o'clock dinner was served.
