Irv Franken Injured In truck accident Irwln Franken was seriously Injured In a head on collision on Dec. 1, six miles > from Rochester, Minn. Irwln was on his way to White Hall, Wise, carrying a load of 32 bulls for De Jong Trucking Company when the accident happened. Eight of them were killed, The other semi-trailer truck was loaded with grain. Irwln's left leg was amputated below his knee, his right leg and left arm were fractured. He was released from Intensive care on Saturday, The other driver was not hurt. Just three years ago within six miles of where this accident happened, he was seriously Injured when a car went through a stop sign and struck his truck. Overheard on the interurban: "Am I glad my wife joined woman's lib! Now she complains about all men, not just me.' Correction In the Nov. 18 Issue of The CAPITAL It was reported that Dr. and Mrs. Alfred Popmaof Boise, Idaho donated a check for $1000 to the hospital for the X-ray drive as a memorial to his mother, the late Mrs. Martin Van Peursem, The memorial Is also to his father, John Popma, whose name was omitted from the story in error. Mr. and Mrs. Don Van Der Weide and family accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Van Gorp visited In the Marvin Van Gorp home at Hospers on Sunday afternoon.
