The group included Mr. and Mrs. Ron Noteboom, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Droog, Mr. and Mrs. Norm Plender, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Klelnhesselink, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Vande Kamp and Mr. and Mrs. Cornie Eshuis. The couples enjoyed dinner out together, and later were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norm Plender. The buffet table was decorated with two beautiful bell shaped cakes with pink roses and white doves. After lunch was served, the group presented Mr. and Mrs. Vande Griend with a lovely anniversary gift. Usually our best work is that which we do easily and joyfully. MILK MADE MAGIC SWEEPSTAKES RECIPES courtesy of Sioux County Dairy Promotion DOUBLE STRAWBERRY DREAM i Mrs. Roger Den Herder, Sioux Center, Iowa 1-10 oz. pkg. frozen strawberries, partly thawed i pint strawberry ice cream 1 large ripe banana, peeled and cup up 2 cups milk 1 tsp. vanilla extract Combine strawberries, ice cream, banana, 1 cup of milk and vanilla in a blender. Beat until creamy smooth. Stir to remaining 1 cup of milk. Makes 3 servings. NOTE: If in electric mixer is used, beat strawberries with Ice cream and banana in large rmW bow; then stir in milk and vanlla. CARMEL CORN Marie Sjaarda, R. R. 2, Ireton, Iowa 2 cups brown sugar 1 cup butter 0 j cup white syrup 1 tsp. salt 7 quarts popped corn Cook sugar, butter, syrup, and salt for 5 min. Pour over popped corn. Put in 200 degree oven for one hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Local News Miss Shirley Raak, a student at the University of South Dakota at Vermillion spent the weekend in the parental Martin Raak home. She had come especially to help Mr. Raak celebrate his birthday which was Saturday. He also received a phone call on Saturday from his daughter, Judy, in Washington, D. C. congratulating him. Mr. and Mrs. L. S. and Geneva (Bourna) Baer of Browns Valley, Minnesota have been visiting at the Jennie Berge home in Orange City the past week. Mrs. H. J.
