Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. soda. Pour over 8 qts of popcorn. Bake In oven 1 hr. at 200 degrees, stirring occasionally. FUDGE BARS Bonnie Vonk, Ireton, Iowa \ cup butter 1 cup sugar \ tsp. vanilla 1 egg (well beaten) 3/4 cup sifted flour j tsp. soda Cream Ihe" but^eTand sugar and flavoring until light colored. Add the egg and beat well. Sift together the Hour, salt and soda. Add to the creamed mixture, mixing well. Add oatmeal and combine. Save 1 cup of mixture for top of bars. Press the rest In a greased 9 x 13 pan. Filling: 1-6 oz. pkg. choc, chips 1 Tblsp. butter 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 tsp. vanilla i tsp. salt | cup chopped nuts Cook chips, butter, milk and salt in heavy pan on low heat, stirring constantly, just until chocolate melts. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix. Pour this mixture over cookie base. Top with remaining cup of batter.
