SHINER TEXAS Fall Festival Greeted With Large Crowd The A. of Shiner High was greeted Friday night with one of the largest crowds ever assembled in the gym. The first number presented, Thumb was pleasing and ideally staged and costumed. The wee tots, in fact, were adorable and was a revealing array of future belles and beaux. The intermediates and juniors gave a contrasting and well coached spectacle in costume of the operetta, Indian Following the program concessions opened and were liberally patronized.

Mrs. Walter Paul, president of the A. stated it would be several days before a financial statement could be issued. A well pleased attendance lingered late in kindly fellowship. MIDGETS YOAKUM PUPS The S. L. A. Midgets travel to Yoakum this Thursday night, Nov. 3, to play the Yoakum Pups of the Yoakum Public School in a football game at Bulldog Stadium.

Sralla R- Fric F. Marcak SOCIAL REGISTER FOR TEXAS St. Church, Yoakum, was the sceneof the marriage of Miss Marie Siegel of Yoakum and Victor Stanek of Houston, Monday, Oct. 24, 8:15 a.m., with the Rev. Jos.

Pustka officiating at Nuptial Mass. Miss Siegel is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Siegel and the late Mike Siegel Sr. of Shiner, while the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

John Stanek of Shiner. Witnesses were Stanley Siegel of Houston, brother of the bride, and Rudy Schoenfeld, Moulton. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, John M. Siegel of Shiner, selected for her wedding dress a heavy white satin, made with full floor length skirt, enhanced in lace and flared ruffles the length of the skirt which fell into a cathedral train, a fitted waist, with yoke of net designed in shirred effect, the fitted sleeves extended in long points over wrists. A finger tip veil of illusion fell from a beaded crown.

She carried a rosary and white prayer book topped with a single orchid. She wore a four- strand pearl necklace. The groom wore a brown business suit with white carnation boutonniere. The maid of honor, Miss Ann Siegel of Shiner, sister of the bride, wore orchid taffeta over net, a short veil of net fell to the shoulder, her colonial bouquet of white mums nestled in net and was the same as carried all the attendants. The bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Chilek of Yoakum who wore nile green taffeta; Miss Bessie Svoboda of Shiner, who wore blue taffeta; Miss Lillian Petruzela of Yoakum, who selected yellow taffeta.

The Misses Christina Pekar and Rosie Matias were in attendance at the film shown at the Parish Hall Sunday night. Alfred J. Bludau left last week for Nashville, to enter Mechanics College. Mr. and Mrs.

Roy and Clayton Bollier of San Benito were weekend guests of relatives. Those who spent Sunday in El Campo with Mr. and Mrs Adolph Mucka were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fric and Mary Jane, Mr.

and Mrs. Joe L. Patek of Seguin announce the arrival of a baby boy born October 18 at the Seguin hospital. The little lad weighed eight pounds and six ounces and was given the name Kenneth Wayne. Mr.

and Mrs. E. L. Huffsmith of Houston announce the birth of a baby girl Oct. 17, weight five pounds, three ounces.

She has been given the name of Patricia Ann. The mother was the former Miss Lola Mae Marburger. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Valenta.

Miss Emily Heimann, Eugene Valenta and Johnnie Heimann spent the weekend visiting friends and relatives in Poth. Mrs. A. C. Ashley of Galveston returned home Wednesday after spending two weeks with her sister, Miss Florence Hranitzky, and other relatives.

Emil Heider Services Held Tuesday, Oct 25 Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 25, at Orange Grove for Emil W. Heider, 60, who died at his there on Sunday lengthy illness. The services were conducted at the home and the First Lutheran Church at Orange Grove by Rev. H.

Zimmerman. Interment was in the Orange Grove Cemetery. Mr. Heider was born Jan. 6, 1889, at Haw Creek, Fayette County.

On December 22, 1910, he married Anna Dueval in Lindenau and lived there two years. They moved to Orange Grove in 1913. Surviving are his wife; four sons, Arthur of Orange Grove, Edwin of Houston and Norbert and Warren of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Louis Haverlah of Orange Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Stindt of Shiner and Mrs.

Henry Stolleis of Cuero; a brother, Hugo Heider of Cuero; and IO grandchildren. Pall bearers were Herbert Goehring, San Marcos; Reinhard Mueller, Lindenau; Edgar Boehm, Marvin Boehm, both of Cuero; Albert Heider, Cuero; Raymond Stindt, Victoria; Helmuth Stindt, Shiner; and Wilbert Stolleis, Seguin. Yoakum were flower girls, Jeanette wearing aqua blue and Gay Nell in blue. Their floor length gowns of taffeta were "fashioned along similar lines. They wore pink bows in their hair and carried white crocheted baskets filled with tiny orchid mums.

A reception at Legion Park, Shiner, followed the wedding. The groom was in the service four years, three years having been spent in Italy and England. After a wedding trip to Corpus Christi, the newlyweds will make their home in Houston where the groom is in the employ of the J. M.
