a bonfire in the yard next door were blown against the building The flames started in the siding of the first floor and spread to the second story Damage was confined to the walls of the building Text of Address Made by Governor Lehman Expresses Thanks to All Who Had Part In Enterprise The text of Governor address at the Grand Island bridge dedication today follows: Mr Schoellkopf friends I am very happy indeed to be here this afternoon at the dedication of these bridges I have had a part in the planning and carrying forth of their enterprise Way back in 1930 I came here with President Roosevelt then governor and crossed on the Grand Island ferry toured the island and the mainland again and it was from that visit and the impressions of President Roosevelt that these bridges have become a reality An appropriation of $1000000 was made by the state but that was not enough to carry through the work We went to Washington under the leadership of' the commission and applied for a loan to the RFC A loan of $2800000 was granted which together with the money given by the state and the right-of-way given by the county of Erie made possible this work and Mr Jones as chairman of the today when an explosion 2400 feet below the surface set fire to the coal shaft in which they were working The mine employs 1400 miners Half that number were working rhen the blast occurred Confidence was expressed that the fire raging below which was said to be already "limited" could be extinguished in time to save the entombed workers SEVERE STORM BRINGS RAIN OF FISH TO AUBURN AUBURN July 15 It near midnight with a man other than her husband does not in itself constitute grounds tor divorce Supreme Court Justice Clarence MacGregor ruled today He dismissed the action brought by Arch Lyman Eggertsville against his wife Clara mother of several grown children by a previous marriage They were married Nov 7 1907 and have lived apart since 1923 Mrs Lyman who opposed the suit lives at 1497 Union road Ebenezer Justice MacGregor pointed out that Mrs Lyman on April 4 1935 told her husband that she was going to Rochester to visit her sister that she met a man named Cook went to the movies with him and then decided that it was too late to see her sister They went to the Roch-1 ester hotel Mrs Lyman said she did not know that Mr Cook had registered for them as Harrison and wife When witnesses for the husband gained entry to the room to inspect "leaking pipes" Mr Cook had his coat and vest off and Mrs Lyman had her coat off and was wearing house slippers Justice MacGregor ruled that there were "suspicious circumstances and the testimony of the defendant (Mrs Lynfan) does not in some respects ring true" He added: "Perhaps the plaintiff was premature in bringing his witnesses upon the scene but the fact remains that taking all of the testimony and the reasonable inferences to be drawn from the surrounding circumstances and even indulging in the presumptions that are to Washington officials appeal for funds for construction of a $2500000 high-level waterfront bridge The promise of the chief executive was made at a conference with Mayor Zimmermann and Chairman
