Joe Hornsby, 74 DE LEON (BBC)-- Funeral for Mrs. Joe Hornsby, 74. of De Leon, were to be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Heickman officiating, assisted by Elder Andy Hudson.

Bural was to be in De Leon Cemetery with Bigginbotham Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Hornsby died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in a Gorman hospital where she had been since Sunday. Born Oct.

23. 1892, in Belton, she married Joseph Hornsby, Sept. 8, 1918. She was a member of the Downing Baptist! Church. One son died Dec.

24, 1944. Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Travis: Terry of Weatherford; two sisters, Mrs. Fonda Bridges of Abilene and Mrs. Mattie Decker of Brownfield, and three grandchildren.

H. Davenport COMANCHE (BBC)-Funeral for Rev. Robert Herbert Davenport, 72. were to be at 2 p.m. today at Comanche Oaklawn with Funeral burial Home Inin dian Creek Cemetery near Comanche.

Rev. Robert Haynes was to officiate. Rev. Davenport died in a Fort Worth hospital at 3:30 p.m.: Monday. He was a former Comanche County resident and had lived in Fort Worth the past 25 years.

He was born Sept. 6, 1894, in Comanche County. He was a retired Methodist minister and had served pastorates in this area including De Leon and Cross Cut. A veteran of World War he was' also a Mason. He married July 21, 1919, to Miss Velma Milli.

William E. Kimble, 82 DE LEON- (BBC) -Funeral for William Edgar Kimble, 82, of De Leon was at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memphis, Tenn. He died Sunday. Born April 26, 1884, in Oxford.

Fair Resigns Position David Fair, vice president of the Ambulance Service, has resigned his position effective immediately. Jarrell Bishop has been named to replace him. Fair said, however, that he will still retain interest in the firm. In reviewing the firm's six weeks of operation, Fair said he is very pleased at the progress, He added that since the service has been in operation, another ambulance has been added to the fleet as well as some new equipment for the other units. Fair said that in six weeks the employment of the company has growt.

Council Views Plans for Hall An exterior view and interior plans for Brownwood's new city hall were shown to city councilmen this morning. No action on the plans was requested.

City Manager John Clary said, final plans for the building are about 90 per cent complete and bids on construction will be sought shortly. Approved were checks of $151.95 for engineering changes on the new city sewer project and $49.02 for drawing plans and specifications on painting the overhead water storage in north Brownwood. 4 and a 1965 pickup driven by Milton Pierce Medley and owned by the city were in collision. Damage to the vehicle totaled an estimated $250, with no injuries being reported by police. Class Officers Being Sought In connection with the 1966 Brownwood High School homecoming the names of class officers of the graduating classes of 1926, 1936 and 1946 are being sought. David Woods Ill Is West Point Appointee MAY (BBC) -David Woods III, grandson of Mrs.

Sallie Wagnon of May, has received an appointment to West Point from President Johnson. Woods, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Woods Jr. of Springfield, is a senior at Springfield High School.

A stock farmer at Locker, Mr. Taylor died Monday at 7:50 p.m. minutes after being taken to a San Saba hospital after becom-' ing ill at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1896 in San Saba County and had lived in the county all his lIfe.

A Methodist, he was married to Cora Johnson Dec. 19, 1915: at Locker. Survivors include his son, Merlee Taylor of Lo a brother, O. W. Taylor pl San Saba; two sisters, Mrs.

Josie M. Penny, 93, of Coleman was to be held today at 4 p.m. in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Bryan Halliburton officiating. Burial was to be in Clyde Cemetery with Bailey Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Penny died at a man rest home Tuesday. She was born Oct. 28, 1872 in Dallas County and married Seth L. Penny Nov.

She was a member of First Baptist Church here and had: been a member of the church for over 60 years. City Dads Pick Representatives The mayor or mayor pro tem were named to represent the City of Brownwood on the West Central Texas Council of Governments by the city council this morning. Names of the persons to represent the city were purposely left out so whoever is servng. as mayor or mayor pro temi will automatically become the representative. Each governing body in 19 area counties has been invited to chose an elected official as a representative to the council. To date, 14 counties are participating, including Brown County.
