Schneider, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Schneider, So. Minnesota St., Algona, completed a radio teletype operation course at Fort Carson, Colo., Aug. 15. During his 11 weeks of training, he received Instruction In the operation of radio transmitting and receiving sets by voice and Morse code. FORT GORDON, GA. — Army Private Richard W. Heinen, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Heinen, Route 1, Box 60, Algona, Iowa, completed a 12-week communication center specialist course at the Army Southeastern Signal School, Fort Gordon, Ga., Aug.19. During his training, he learned to operate teletype sets and other communications equipment. LAREDO, TEXAS-Second Lt. Jeffrey W. Boyken, above, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward 0. Boyken of Tltonka, has been awarded U. S. Air Force silver pilot wings upon graduation at Laredo AFB, Tex, The lieutenant is being assigned to Perrin AFB, Tex., for flying duty with the Air Defense Command which provides aerospace defense against hostile aircraft and missiles. Lt. Boyken, a graduate of Tl- tonka Consolidated High School, received his B., S. degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University and was commissioned there in 1965 upon completion of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps program. His wife, Carolyn, is the daughter of Mrs. Raymond A. Thompson, Sr., Ellsworth, la. DAVID WILDIN David E. Wildin, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wildin, rural Algona, now assigned to the 546th Transportation Company (16th General Support Group - Airborne), United States forces Dominican Republic is due to return stateside in Late September. Pfc Wildin will then be assigned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was inducted into the Army, Dec. 15,1965 and has been in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic since, April 29, 1966. Pfc. Wildin received basic and individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He Is a 1964 graduate of Algona Public high school. - o MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Captain Charles D. Trunnelle, son of Mrs. Mildred E. Trunnelle of R. R. 1, Wesley, Iowa, has been graduated from the Air University's (AU) academic Instructor course at Maxwell AFB, Ala. Captain Trunnelle received six " weeks of Intensive study In the principles of learning, philosophy of military education in the Air Force, effective speech delivery and other related Instructional techniques. The captain now becomes a member of AU which conducts officer military education programs and provides more than 100 military correspondence courses for 365,000 students. He is being assigned to the University of Florida for duty as assistant professor of aerospace studies. Captain Trunnelle, a graduate of Lu Verne (Iowa) Ind. High School, received a B. S. degree In vocational education from Iowa State University, where he was commissioned upon completion of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps program.
