from The Choate School Harvard College (Class of 1945) and the Harvard Business School (MBA 1953) He served in the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II on the destroyer escort USS Mitchell He earned nine battle stars including stars for the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa After the war he completed his higher education pursued his career as a financial advisor and married and raised his family in Wenham Mass Vince retired to No Pomfret upon marrying Cindy Fisher in 1994 Mr Jones is survived by his wife Cindy Fisher Jones of Maple Ave Vincent Hi: William Andrew Enfield NH Ilene Reed 92 died Monday Nov 30 2015 at Lebanon Center Eldercare in Lebanon NH She was bom March 13 1923 in Hanover NH a daughter of Carroll and Rose (Young) Putnam Ilene graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1941 where she was active on the basketball team and was later married to Donald Reed on Sept 1 6 1 944 they lived in West Lebanon She began her career as a secretary at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in White River Junction retiring after 32 years of service in several departments They moved to Enfield in 1 973 where she was later was elected to the office of Town serving for 20 years making significant contributions to the betterment of the town and its people She was extremely involved in the politics and served on the planning board since 1984 as a selectwomen since 1995 and also served as a Justice of the Peace and uniting many couples from the Upper Valley She loved to tell the story of the winter wedding atop Whaleback Mountain where they rode a Snow Cat to the top so she could perform the ceremony Ilene was very active at St Church in Enfield She was a devoted and faithful parishioner participating as a lector and a mentor for new parishioners threw RCIA program She also enjoyed and participated in LaSalette bible study with Father Ross Ilene was known by many young girls as the Girl Scout Leader and was a well know pet sitter for many friends and neighbors On June 19 1999 she was awarded Citizen of the Year by the Lebanon Mascoma Lions Club Out of respect for involvement with the development of House housing for women in crisis and handicap affordable housing the developer named Reed Court in Lebanon after her She was an active volunteer for the Lebanon and Mascoma Senior Centers working both within the centers as well as transporting to their appointments and errands and as a driver for Meals on Wheels Though her driving was a concern she felt it necessary that the had someone to get them around each time her daughter came for a visit there would be a new dent from a previous excursion After she came to the realization that she should not drive she concentrated her efforts in Ilene the centers Though she did not like the idea of riding the bus she did look forward to getting into a vehicle full of people on the colder mornings Her hobbies included visits to Tennessee to visit family watching all the New England teams especially the Red Sox We learned to not call during their games because she would narrate each call Traveling with friends from the Affairs Medical Center When she was younger she and Donald raised Irish Setters she loved these animals and after the loss of her last dog she finally agreed to a kitten that became a wonderful companion to her She enjoyed the Lights of LaSalette and the winter concert put on by Father Pat She loved to read and was a member of the book club at the senior center Though she loved the Town of Enfield she never forgot where she came from She was disappointed in the loss of the individuality of West Lebanon its sign being replaced by one that said just Lebanon She was an active member of the West Lebanon Alumni Association and had a special place in her heart for the school She is predeceased by her husband Donald Reed a brother John Putnam and a sister Catherine Hamilton She was a beloved and devoted mother She is survived by a son Michael Reed and his wife Suzanne of Winslow Maine a daughter Jill Elder and her husband Andrew of Lascassas Tenn five grandchildren four great-grandchildren a sister Margaret Levesque of Enfield several nephews and a grandchildren: Fiona Samuel Emeline and Micah along with friends of the family Leon Rogers and Dan Bingham Beatrice was bom on Aug 5 1 927 in Guayaquil Ecuador She was the second of six children to Enrique Medina and Maria Carreno Medina She grew up there and received her education primarily in the cities of Guayaquil and the capital of Ecuador Quito since her mother was owner and the principal of several schools throughout Ecuador After high school in 1948 she made what would become a most fateful trip and visit to the United States landing her in New York City and stayed paving the way for her ill mother with hypertension to later come to the US to receive the only treatment they had at the time for it and several of her family members It was there at roller rink in the borough of Queens NY with a group of mutual friends that she met her soon-to-be-husband Alfred Edler It was love at first sight for the diminutive dark-haired dark-eyed beauty and the blond blue eyed young man with the handsome good looks commencing a long and enduring romance with each other that would last for the next 63-years until the death of her beloved husband in June of 2014 They were married on July 21 1951 of which from this union resulted two children Gary and Leslie Together they created an amazingly cohesive team based on mutual love affection devotion and respect for each other This bond held them together through the thick and thin times of their marriage In 1955 they purchased their first home in Huntington Station NY out on Long Island Beatrice maintained an immaculately tasteful and beautifully appointeddecorated and efficiently-ran home for her family Among die most memorable fond memories of this era were the innumerable parties they hosted over the years in the downstairs rec room of their home which they had built together They and their many friends enjoyed these parties immensely often dancing late into the night They would remain in that home for the next 12 years foremost role was as a stay-at-home mom as most women of her day were focusing on raising her children and homemaking All through her life she encouraged and supported her children From Little League to BoyGirl Scouts to swimming lessons and swimming teams to piano lessons to ballet gymnastic sewing and painting classes to many more activities in which she engaged her children She
