Complete unofficial returns give Diehl a margin of approximately 50 votes. Mr. Diehl will succeed County Treasurer Rife who has filled the office for the past term. Mr.

Rife succeeded Col. W. C. Bambrick, who was the first Democrat to take over this office in a long period of years. The race between Mr.

Diehl and Mr. Zimmerman was exceedingly close, both candidates having conducted a clean, aggressive campaign. Mr. Zimmerman, like Mr. Diehl, is well and favorably known throughout the county.
