Stash That Trash! This teen-ager is picking up roadside litter that just one car strews along the nation's highways in a year. Spread out one inch deep, it covers a 108 so. ft. area. Multiplied by 74,693,000 private passenger cars, that's a lot of litter. To help keep America litter-free and beautiful, Kleenex tissues is sponsoring an anti-litter campaign to encourage the use of car litter -baskets, emptied frequently into roadside or home trash disposers. Peak litter season lasts through Labor Day. Board Proceedings BOARD PROCEEDINGS SEVENTEENTH DAY JULY 1, 1966 REGULAR JUNE SESSION The Board of Supervisors met pursuant to adjournment. Those present were John Rode, Chairman, and Garry McDonald, Lawrence Newbrough, Charles Plathe and A. M. Kollasch. Absent: none. Motion by Kollasch and seconded by Plathe that a refund in the amount of $85.57 be allowed to Hazel L.Plattonover-assess- ment of Drain 5, West Branch. Ayes: all. Nays: none. Motion carried. Motion by McDonald and seconded by Kollasch that cigarette permits be approved for the Chrome Cafe, Algona, Eischen's DX, Sexton, and German Valley Store, German Valley. Ayes: all. Nays: none. Motion carried. Motion by Newbrough and seconded by McDonald that comprise settlement of delinquent taxes of Gordon S. Kuhn be settled in the amount of $69.50. Ayes: all. Nays: none. Motion carried. Motion by Newbrough and seconded by McDonald that Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Warwick be appointed first couple at the Kossuth County Home. Ayes: all. Nays: none. Motion carried. Motion by Newbrough and seconded by McDonald that A. M. Kollasch be appointed to the Civil Defense Board for the year of 1966. Ayes: all. Nays: none. Motion carried.
