REPUBLIC REPUBLIC. MAIL BULLDOG Obituaries The Arizona Republic Phoenix, May 9, 1973 Michael K. Reidy, 65, retired store president SCOTTSDALE Michael Reidy, 65, president of the Jones Store of Kansas City, until retiring here eight years ago. died Monday St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mr. Reidy, of 84 Colonia Miramonte, was a member of the Casa de Paz bien Foundation. Symphony 400 Club of Phoenix, Paradise Valley Country Club, Western Senior, Arizona Seniors and National Seniors Golf associations and a director of Rockhurst College of Missouri. Born in County Clare, Ireland, he was graduated from College and be- gan'his merchandising career in fhe training program of Wannamakers Department Store in New York City. After seven years, he joined Mercantile Storey the parent company of The Jones Store.

Mr. Reidy moved to Kansas City in 1939 as vice president and general manager and became president of Jones in 1956. Survivors include his wife, Vera: a son, Terrance, of San Francisco; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Cunningham of San Francisco, Mrs. Barry Ellis of Denver and Mrs.

Raymond Combe of Guela, Algeria; three stepchildren, Mrs. David L. i of Scottsdale, Ronald Nelson of Valparaiso, and James Nelson of Sausalito, five sisters and three brothers out of state, and two grandchildren. Mass will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Miller at Second Street.

He was employed by the Engineering Testing Laboratory and had also worked as a karate instructor. Hammerl, 67, who retired as executive vice president in 1970 after 34 years with the State Bank of Mount.Prospect, 111., died yesterday in Mesa Lutheran Hospital. Mr. Hammerl, 7016 Floos- was born in Des Plaines, 111., and moved here three years ago from Mount Prospect. He was a-member of All Saints Catholic Church here and the Elks Lodge in -Apache Junction. Survivors include his wife, a son, Carl Jr.

of Peoria, a daughter, Mrs. Marlene Silvestri of Palos Heights. 111.: a sister of Illinois, and eight grandchildren. Mass will be at- 9 a.m. tomorrow in Desert View Chapel.

Ohio, before retiring here in 1966, died Monday in Boswell Memorial Hospital. Mr. Carmody, 10030 103rd Drive, was graduated from the University of Kentucky and was a member of the Church of St. Joachim in Sun City. He was born in Mount Sterling, Ky.

Mr. Emery, 3620 was born in Austria Hungary and came to Arizona in 1954 from Detroit. He had been a butcher at Smitty's Big Town stores in Scottsdale and at Peoria and 35th Avenue.
