IlMfcS-MIRROR, THURSDAY A TH C.Shotzbarger Main Speaker At VB Banquet team fc'hich won the championship of the YMCA Volleyball League was feted last night In the banquet hall of the YMCA by the three losing teams in the league. The dinner hit a new high In hilarity as Myron Jewell delivered his four point charge to the newly crowned champions in his presentation of awards to the Spikers. The champions were presented with a beautifully painted, decorated, and beribboned five gallon coffee pot which will be placed in the Business Men's locker room. Each member of the team received a beautifully hand-painted lapel award upon which was inscribed all the traditional information found upon championship awards. Clyde Shotzbarger, Northwest District Secretary of the gave a very interesting talk on the attitudes and the abilities required of the players in a game of volleyball.

He referred often to his experiences and observations acquired through many years in physical work in the game of valleyball. His remarks regarding the various styles of playing the game were particularly well received by the group. Brackett Ayers expressed the appreciation of the Setters for their opportunity to take part in the league and read a letter received one of the many fans of the league which praised various Individuals for their outstanding play during the season. Ray Lewis, captain of the Spik- fcrs, accepted the team trophy and expressed the appreciation of himself and his teammates for the fine dinner which had received. Red Wood spoke on behalf of the Termites and expressed the hope that next year volley ball will be attempted on an inter-Association scale.

The toastmaster chores were handled by Lloyd Shirk who In his opening remarks complimented the men upon the fine cooperation he had received from them during the past season. Those present at the dinner Were: Paul Harrington, Myron Jewell, Francis Morris, Bab Babcock, Dick Scalise, Ray Lewis, Harry West, Erv Rader, Dick Ross, Tony Morelli, Jack Moore, Tom Conway, Brackett Ayers, Chuck Cable, Ray Benson, Howard Sa- Ville, Lloyd Shirk, Merle Seymour.
