PITTSBURGH PAINTS keep that look longer MEADOWBROOK A protest group of residents and organization and church members are expected to contest the liquor license application of the Melody Lane Speedway, a motorcycle race track in Meadowbrook, at a hearing before the county liquor control commission on Thursday at 10 a.m. Members of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and Church of God, Moro Baptist Church and Bethalto Lutheran Church are expected to be represented at the hearing, it was announced by an official of the Fort Russell-Meadowbrook Improvement Association. Edward Wonnacott, Meadowbrook special deputy, said he objected to the race track's liquor license application because minors will be attracted to the area by the race track. The liquor license application was filed with the county liquor commissioner last week by Bert Major, Joseph Sheppard and George Vonland, Wood River residents. A celling of pink and sliver streamers completely covered the room, and pink and silver hearts and musical Instruments were placed on the walls ftnd hung from overhead. The theme and colors were carried out In the dance programs and at the refreshment table. Climax of the evening was the crowning of the prom king and queen, John Sterner and Sherry Davis, seniors, by the president of the junior class, Jerry Bland. Attendants for the royal couple were the runners up In the contest, Bruce Campbell and Babs Eberlin, juniors; Donna Halsey and Michael Brangenberg, juniors; and Shirley Wyatt and Anthony Bailey, seniors. Following the coronation, a large crown hanging above the throne released a cascade of streamers at the feet of the king and queen.

Music for dancing was provided by the Harry Lewis Band, and during an Intermission Gerry Bick, vice president of the junior class, extended a welcome to the seniors. Larry Even, senior class president, responded, using song titles to express the thoughts of his class. A singing group then presented two vocal numbers prior to the crowning oereflwnles. Bruce Campbell served as master of ceremonies. Refreshments were served late in the evening, and dancing continued until midnight.

Faculty sponsors for the senior class are Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Krfmp, and for the junior class, Charles Raich and Mrs.
