"No, I don't think there is as much romance and sentiment attached to Valentine's Day by today's teens. "They don't need a particular day to express their feelings about another person. And, their relationships are on a more informal basis than in the past. "I don't believe Valentine cards express any real emotion anyway." Bernard Flickinger, 18, a senior of Mt. Airy.

"Valentine's Day is beginning to become more and more commercialized. "Everyone used to make their own cards and really put feeling into them. Now, everyone buys their cards. "I just don't think today's teens really do associate romance with Valentine's Day." Virginia Hill, 17, a senior of Libertytown. "No, I don't think teen-agers connect romance and sentiment with Valentine's Day.

Jim Thompson, 18, a senior of RFD 4, Mt. Airy. "I feel that Valentine's Day is more for the teen-agers than anyone else. "It seems that teen-agers are at a romantic stage, and I personally get a kick oJt of sending my girl a valentine and a present.

And, she enjoys receiving them. "Most people seem to enjoy receiving Valentine's Day cards whether they've been bought or homemade. It's nice to know someone's thinking of you."
