Algona Girl To Wed In Texas, September 3 Mrs. Alfred Kresensky of Algona, Iowa, has announced the engagement of her daughter, Alice, to Cameron McPherson Cunningham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald S... Cunningham of Lubbock, Texas. Miss Kresensky is a graduate of The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio, and Union Theological Seminary of New York City. She then spent two years in India as a Frontier Intern for the United Presbyterian church, U. S. A. For the past two years she has been the Associate Director of the Presbyterian Campus Ministry at the University of Texas, Austin. Mr. Cunningham, a graduate of'Texas Technological College, spent two years in the Army before entering law school at the University of Texas. This summer he is a legal assistant to the regional director of Legal Services for the office of Economic Opportunity in Austin. The couple will marry September 3 in Austin, Texas and will settle there while Mr. Cunningham finishes his third year of law school. Miss Kresensky will be visiting Algona the third week of August. MRS. ESTHER BARTON spent her vacation at Lost Island with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cook, Webb, in their cottage. She also visited Mrs. Rose Smith at Paullina. MRS. GILBERT HARGREAVES had Mrs. Richard Cook of Mason City as a guest Saturday night. Mrs. Cook also spent some time with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs, William Allen and family. MR. AND MRS. R. A. Behnke have been visited by their son- in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Waller and Cindy, Decatur, HI., and their son, . Harold Behnke, wife and daughter Carol, also of Decatur, who also visited with the parents, Mr. and Mrs, Walter Vaudt, Whittemore, The Wallers were enroute home from a vacation at Denver, Colo. MR, AND MRS. Ray Cook Mr. and Mrs. James AjLjen spent last weekend at Clinton, the Cooks being guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Carmody and Mr. and Mrs. Allen were guests of the former's niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Benner. MRS. CELESTINE Eisenbarth has been visited by her son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Klein of Alabama. Previously she had as guest Mrs. Mary Roskoph of Seattle, Wash. MR. AND MRS. Murray Mowers and family are vacationing at Okoboji, Mrs. Mower's parents also spend considerable time in their trailer house at Okoboji and have as guest Mrs. LaBarre's sister, Mrs. Bernice Struble, Vinton. HANS JOHANNSEN suffered a slight heart attack at church in Waverly last Sunday but was not hospitalized. He is a former well-known Algonan and brother of Henry Johannsen. MR. AND MRS. Lloyd Muckey and Mrs. Ellen Dailey and her brother, John Larson, spent a day in Mason City with friends last week. JOAN POST spent the weekend at Templeton with Lois Langel. HELEN DINGLEY and Mrs. H. M. Smith had as guests Wednesday Gertrude Fleming, Mason City, and her sister Dorothy, Mrs. Conlin, Princeton, HI. MR. AND MRS. Harvey Johnson were visited a few days last week by Mrs. Emma Hager, Alden, and Mrs. Laura Kelley, Vinton. Other guests have been the son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Simon and Nina, from last Tuesday till Thursday. Their home is at Gilbert. HUGH BLACK and Louise, Jimmie and Caroline are vacationing a month at Tobermory, Can. on Georgian Bay. He was met there by his sister, Mrs. Robert Cripps and family of Ontario, Can., who also take a Algona, (la.) Upper Des Maine* Tuesday, August 1, 1966 cottage there. The children are Jim, Andy, Jane and Liz. DR. RAY POTTER was brought home Thursday evening by his wife after being at Park hospital since Friday. He will return next week for a check-up. MR. AND MRS. Willis Marshall spent the weekend at Mora, Minn, with the latter 1 s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Schulz. MR. AND MRS. Wallace Erdman had as guests last week Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ernst, Muscatine. MR. AND MRS. John Nauholz had Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts of Des Moines as guests a few days last week. MR. AND MRS. Floyd Erickson have been visited the past three weeks by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Grant, Washington, D. C.
