It is estimated thru the membership of the Knights of Labor in this city (white and colored) is increasing at the rate of 200 per week. An order was issued some time ago from the lixecu tive Committee of the I nited States that no new assemblies should be organized, so these accessions are all to the old lodges. The excepted classes to member? ship in the order are the bankers, brokers, lawyers, and li'iuor-dealers and -manu? facturers.

Professional gamblers are also excepted. All other clares become members. The organization consisU of local assemblies (both male and female), district Msemblies com? posed of delegates from the locals, State, and one general assembly. The Ant of a aries of games of base? ball between professional clubs will be played at Virginia Pak, at the head of Franklin street, to-morrow afternoon between the Bostons and commencing at 4 o'clock. These clubs play two days, and the Bostons play Wednesday with Pyle, a favorite pitcher here, to pitch for the latter.

Tba Boston Club hu leased the grounds for the re? mainder of the month, and will have games every afUrnoon either with other clubs or will divide its own men (eigh? teen in number) and play match games. These will be good games, and will probably be the only ones between pro? fessional clubs that our people who are lovers of the game will have an oppor? tunity of seeing this season. The Bos? ton Club ranks among the best in the National League, and among its men are Nash, Johnston, and Tate, Rich? mond bojs, who were formerly on the Virginia Club, and who rank among the best players in tbe country. These games will doubtless draw large crowds. KICHMOND V'S.

KAN'DOLPH MACONS. A crowd ol' about 300 people wit? nessed a game of ball yesterday after? noon between the first nine of Rich? mond College and the first nine of Randolph-Mao n. The Randolph-Macons were unable to make a run until thc seventh inning-, when Marje, having gotten his base on balls, stole to third, and roached home on high-fly muffed by the i entre-tielder. They succeeded in getting two more in the eighth; Deleon knocking a three bagger, bringing in Cooke, and coming in himself on a wild pitch. The ball knocked by Pe Leon was the longest hit ever made on the college grounds, going all across the campus and into the piofcssors' grounds.

The Richmond-College boys played easily from the first and added to the Bcore at every inning, batted a tine thrce-baorger and Cutler made a beautiful catch in right-tield. To Field the greatest praise, as he caught an almost perfect game. Below is the score KICIIVtoNIi i c. A.H. H.

Yesterday afternoon little George Andrews, son of Mr, George Andrews, who lives at 316 south Cherry street, was drowned in the river near the old pump-house. There seems to have been no eye? witness as to how he fell into the liver, as he was only seen for a short tbne in the middle of the stream, and then appeard. Every effort wa- made by friends of his father's family to recover the body both by dragging the river and by tiring cannon, but without success. The little fellow went to the pump. house to carry his father's dinner, and, it is supposed, while playing on the bank in rear of the pump-house, fell la and was swept down by the rapid i urreut.
