The Ladies of the Soldier's Relief Society of Ten nessee, have undertaken to organizj a scheme oi Fne Gift Priits, the proceeds of which are for the benefit of the tick soldiers of the Confederate Army. In furtherance of which benevolent purpose they appeal, with confidence, to the citizens of Nashville and of the State of Tennessee and the public generally. A Committe has been appointed to receive donations such as Jewelry, Statuary, Pictures and other objects ol art, antiquities, curiosities, books, trinkets and toys for children, or any other articles for ornament or use all ot which will be properly classified, numbered and distributed to the holders of tickets claiming prizes. The names of doners will be la. belled upon each article presented, unless other wise directed.

Every donation thus received will be valued separately by tbe committee and, ticket corresponding with such valuation will be issued and sold for one dollar each. Persons from a dis tance who make donations or order tickets may leave instructions with the committee in rtgtrd to tbe disposition to be made of their prizes. The first drawing will ts'ie place at 7 o'clock on New Years Ere, at the Mstonic Temple, upon which occasion there will be music and refreshments. Tickets of admution 23 cents. The drawing or sales of such articles as mty remain io the possessioa of the Society on account oi unsold tickets will take place on the next or some subsequent evening, is may be announced at the time.

It is hoped the plan suggested will meet with a success worthy of the cause and commensurate with tbe necessity which has prompted its presentation to the public. The Society takes pleasure in announcing that they have already received valuable contributions and it is hoped that all others who are disposed to contribute will place the articles in the hands of the chairman of committee, Mrs J. M. Bass, at the earliest day practicable. The scheme contemplates the friftpf such objects only aa are already in the possession of the donors, and the presentation of tick eta to friends in lieu of the usual gifts for the holidays, will bo no doubta most acceptable substitute, became whether the recipients draw prizes or blanks, the benefit will inure to those who are wor thy of all our care.

In this case no sacrifices are required, and while we enjoy the usual festivities of the annual holiday, we make them tributary to the accomplishment of a noble and patriotic pup. pose. frELlCIA Gr.CKDT POSTER, Tres'ultnt Relitf Society of Tenntsee.
