Instrumentals and a cappella combine for a great album by Solo. AZ Critic: Keith McConico, freshman at Huguenot High Critic's rating: Album: "Doe or Die" Label: EMI Records Type of music: Rap First reaction: AZ delivers the realness and strongest debuts in hip-hop. This is the album for all the players and hustlers.

All the tracks deliver laid-back flava courtesy of the old school. This album has straight-up hardcore lyrics with a special flavor that leaves a lasting impression on the listener. Best words to describe it: Illmatic and Cutting Edge. This is the phattest album with the AZ smoothest beats ever heard. No matter what beat is given, AZ just flows with the mic.

AZ's cutting edge lyrical flow is further magnified by his hit singles. Best songs: "Sugar Hill," "Gimme Yours," "Ho Happy Jackie," "Uncut Raw," "Sugar Hill (remix)" and the title track. If you liked AZ's phat verse on Nas' album, then he has the people yearning for more with "Doe or Die." This is one of the best albums with brilliant production by Erick Sermon. Critic's notes: A must-buy for rap music listeners who appreciate the total package. This album is definitely worth the money to spend.

No doubt, AZ is one of the baddest lyricist in the rap game.
