3, 1988, in St. Francis Medical Center Hiram Minor PINCKNEYVILLE Hiram Mer-win Minor, 65, of 513 W. South St. died at 4:47 a.m. Wednesday, Feb.

3, 1988, in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Brayfield Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, both in Ses-ser. Visitation will be until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Minor was retired from All-Steel Co. in Aurora. He was a Baptist. He was born Oct.

31, 1922, in Ses-ser to Clarence and Ozella (West) Minor. He married Geneva Arnold in 1950. She survives, of Elburn. Other survivors include two sons, Hiram Minor Jr. of Aurora and Gary Minor of Elburn; one brother, Loyd White of Sesser; two sisters, Rosalee Galant and Violet Harris, both of Neva Blackford ELKVILLE Neva Blackford, 72, of Route 4, Fairfield, died at 8:31 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1988, in Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in Graceland Cemetery in Albion. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m.

Saturday at the funeral home. 1 Mrs. Blackford was a retired cook for Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Fairfield Eagles Auxilary and Browns United Methodist Church. She was born Sept.

26, 1915, in Illinois to John and Myrtle (Wood) Crackle. 5 She married Harry Blackford in 1937. He survives. I Other survivors include two sons, I Earl Blackford of St. Charles, Sand Glen Blackford of Elkville; one daughter, Janice Pumphrey of Car-mi; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

One son preceded her in death. Freda Eubanks BENTON Freda Juanita Eubanks, 71, of Route 3 died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 1988, in the Skilled Care Unit of Franklin Hospital. i Services will be at 2 p.m.

Saturday in Brayfield Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, both in Sesser. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Eubanks was a retired nursing assistant for the Skilled Care Unit at Franklin Hospital.

She was a member of Bear Point Freewill Baptist Church. I She was born Sept. 20, 1916, in Franklin County to Francis and Nancy (Bates) Stockton. She married William Montgomery. She later married Grant Eubanks.

Both preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Donald Montgomery of Sesser; one daugh Loretta Koenegstein PINCKNEYVILLE Loretta Koenegstein, 84, of 202 S. Walnut St. died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.

3, '1988, in Nature Trail Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, with burial in Mueller Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 11 a.m.

Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ambulance Association. Mrs. Koenegstein was a homemaker. She was born Aug.

25, 1903, in Pinckneyville to George and Suzanne (Blum) Ritter. She married Russell Koenegstein in 1923. He died in 1983. Survivors include one son, Billie Koenegstein of Collinsville; one daughter, Sylvia Eaton of Mount Vernon; one brother, Leo Ritter of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Marcella Terry and Gertrude Hammack, both of Pinckneyville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

William Reed CHRISTOPHER William J. Reed, 86, of 707 E. John St. died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb.

4, 1988, at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mulkeytown Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mr.

Reed was a retired railroad worker. He was born Oct. 23, 1901, in Wisconsin to John and Martha (Tesch) Reed. He married Zora Vanzandt in 1929. She survives.

Other survivors include one stepdaughter, Margie Henneman of and three half brothers, August and Willian Erdman, both of Wisconsin, and Frank Erdman of Minnesota. Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Lloyd Morris THOMPSONVILLE Lloyd F. Morris, 63, of Joplin, formerly of Thompsonville, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1988, in Joplin.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr.

Morris was a retired teacher for Mount Vernon and Wellington schools, and had been a counselor at Larkin High School in Elgin. He was a member of the National Education Association, Illinois Education Association, American Legion in Seneca, and Union Freewill Baptist Church, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Thompsonville to Charley and Bessie (Stull) Morris. He married Clarice Wingo in 1945.

She survives. Other survivors include one son, Douglas Morris of Carl Junction, one daughter, Mima Trappina of Westmont; his mother, of Thompsonville; one sister, Lodema Broadway of Mount Vernon; and four grandchildren. His father and one sister preceded him in death. Cecil Purnell MOUNT VERNON Cecil Henry Purnell, 76, of 1304 Westcott St. died Wednesday, Feb.

3, 1988, at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hughey Funeral Home, with burial in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Purnell was a retired welder for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Joliet.

He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 31 AF AM, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Scottish Rites Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois, Sword of Bunker Hill, Jefferson County Shrine Club and Ainad Temple of East St. Louis. He was born March 23, 1911, in Herrin to Norman and Edna (Bur-gesser) Purnell. He married Ida Harris. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Ray Purnell of Belleville and MURPHYSBORO Raymond T. "Dutch" Flanigan, 85, of 1322 Olive St. died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 1988, in St.

Joseph Memorial Hospital. Services will be Fianinnn at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today in Crawshaw Funeral Home. The rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St.

Andrew's Catholic School or the hospital auxiliary. Mr. Flanigan was the retired operator of Flanigan-Wides Service Station. He was a member of the Egyptian Beagle Club of Southern Illinois and was affiliated with Brown Shoe Co. baseball teams.

He was born April 25, 1902, in Jackson County to Harley and Gertrude (Lipe) Flanigan. He married Blanche Borgers in 1921. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Ray Flanigan of Murphysboro; one daughter, Mary Clinton of Cairo; one sister, Mae Perry of Phoenix, six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Delean Etherton ALTO PASS Delean T.

Etherton, V79, died at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1988, in Murphysboro. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Funeral Home in Alto Pass, -with burial in Alto Pass Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Etherton was a member of Dutch Ridge Baptist Church. He was born June 25, 1908, in Jackson County to Omer and Myrtle (Grammer) Etherton.

He married Lucille Hartline in 1933. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Marjorie Williams of Murphysboro; one stepson, Bobby Freeman of Murphysboro; two sisters, Ethel Grammer and Agnes Etherton, both of Alto Pass; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchil-dren; three great-grandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren. One brother preceded him in death. Edna Kirby CARBONDALE Edna J.

Kirby, 91, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 1988, in Carbondale Manor. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale, with burial in Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Eastern Star services will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs.

Kirby was a cashier for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad in West Frankfort, and was co-owner and bookkeeper for Kirby's Market in Carbondale. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 467, and attended the First Presbyterian Church. She was born Dec. 30, 1896, in Murphysboro to John and Ella (Ellis) Wilderman. She married Clifton Kirby in 1923.

He survives. Other survivors include four sisters, Ethel Sullivan, Helen Ellis and Dorothy Vanwey, all of West Frankfort, and Ruby Landers of Carbondale. What's Coming Sesser; and four grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Chloe Davis ANNA Chloe Davis, 86, died at 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1988, in St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with burial in Anna Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mount Moriah Lutheran Church. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker.

She was a member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church. She was born Dec. 14, 1901, in Mill Creek to Oliver and Izora (Miller) Poole. She married Ollie Davis in 1922. He survives.

Other survivors include one son, Leon Davis of Centralia; one sister, Eula Coomes of Alton; and two step-grandchildren. One son and one sister preceded her in death. Verna Wright ANNA Verna Wright, 83, formerly of Dongola, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1988, in Union County Hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery in Dongola. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Miss Wright was a homemaker.

She was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church. She was born Sept, 4, 1904, in Pulaski County to Oscar and Laura (Earnheart) Wright. Survivors include, two sisters, Inez Stevens of Anna and Delilah Henry of Calumet City. Four brothers and one sister and preceded her in death. George Wamsley HERRIN George L.

Wamsley, 50, of Lampasas, Texas, formerly of Herrin, died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1988, in Darnell Army Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas. Services and burial were Thursday in Evant, Texas. Funeral Home, with burial in Evant Cemetery, both in Evant, Texas.

Mr. Wamsley was an Army veteran. He was born Aug. 14, 1937, in Herrin to Kenneth and Helen (Finney) Wamsley. Survivors include his wife, Carol; two sons, George and David Wamsley, both of Texas; and his parents, of Herrin.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund. Mrs. Maxton had worked as a cook and waitress. She was born June 7, 1932, in Carbondale to Henry and Edna (Reed) Young. Survivors include two daughters, Lori Ruggeri and Lisa Maxton, both of Herrin; her mother and stepfather, Edna and Paul McMichael of Herrin; one brother, Leonard Young of Herrin; two sisters, Lorraine Ber-ra and Lou McHargue, both of Herrin; and three grandchildren.

One daughter, her father and one brother preceded her in death. Charles Walton MOUNT VERNON Charles E. Walton, 53, of 1503 Viola St. died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.

3, 1988, at home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home in Sedalia, with burial in Memorial Park in Sedalia. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Walton was manager of the Stadium Theatre. He was a Baptist, a member of Moose Lodge 755 and Amvets 4, and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Fisk, to Charles and Nola (Parks) Walton.

He married Mary Hall in 1962. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Perkins of Mount Vernon and Patricia Dump of Calhoun, one brother, Larry Mopps of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Vivian Wissman of Sedalia; two half brothers, George Walton of Orlando, and Jim Walton of Anderson, one half sister, Virginia Dickinson of Wentzville, and five grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death. Hughey Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Sue Aud CARTERVILLE Carolyn Sue Aud, 50, of Montgomery, formerly of Carbondale, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1988, in Copely Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Grand Avenue Baptist Church, with burial in East Lawn Memorial Garden in Energy. Mrs.

Aud was a retired secretary for Aurora Skelgas. She was a Protestant. She was born Nov! 24, 1937, in Olney to Ralph andMable (Hiller) Reynolds. She married Jim Aud in 1958. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jimmy Aud II of Aurora and Jay Aud, at home; one daughter, Janet Aud of Aurora; her mother, of Largo, one sister, Barbara Hill of Downers Grove; and three grandchildren. Her father preceded her in death. Sophie Barnowski NASHVILLE Sophie B. Barnowski, 77, formerly of Scheller, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb.

Mr. Futrell was a retired cement mason. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was born Feb. 4, 1908, in Mitchellsville to William and Celia (Royster) Futrell.

He married Martha Wheeler in 1948. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Betty Broadway of Golconda; one brother, Orville Futrell of Har-risburg; one sister, Mary Crabb of Golconda; one stepbrother, James Younger of Florida; and three grandchildren. Maxwell Kelso CARBONDALE Maxwell R. Kelso, 84, of Fort Walton Beach, formerly of Carbondale, died at 8:30 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 29, 1988, in West-wood Retirement Center in Fort Walton Beach. The body was cremated. Mr. Maxwell was retired from Sterling-Lindner Co.

in Cleveland. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was born Sept. 3, 1903, in Cleveland to Roy and Adda (McClallin) Kelso. He married Ruth Risk.
