and Mrs. James Goettge. He had been a resident of Gnadenhutten 26 years, where he was a member of the Moravian church, the Booster club ar.d a past councilman. having served in that capacity ten years. Mr.

Goettge was also affiliated with the Brotherhood of Railway Shop Craft. Eagles lodge. Uhrichsville. and Junior Order of United American Mechanics, of which he was financial secretary. In addition to the parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs.

Elda Schreiner Goettge; one daughter. Mrs. Orpha Lewis at home; a son. Harold E. Goettge.

The state department announced simultaneously that the LTnited States cannot accept the Yugoslav position that it has no responsibility for th eloss of the transport shot down Aug. 19 and another forced down on Aug. 9 The Yugoslav government informed the United States that it had made the $150,000 available at the Chase National Bank in New York City.
