Mary Rider of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Linda McClendon of Dallas, Miss Aileen Aiken of Dallas, Mrs. Gladys McGuire of Oaklahoma City, Oaklahoma; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Wildwood Chapel.

Interment Westland Memorial Park. BAIRD Sheridan B. Baird, of 4617 Forest Hill died January 14, 1976. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sadye Reese Baird of Colonial Heights; one sister, Miss Kathleen Baird of Colonial Heights; one half-sistsr, Molly B.

Baird of Colonial Heights; two brothers. Gordon A. Baird of South Mills, N.C. and L. Calvin Baird of Prince George, two half-brothers, Hudson H.

Baird of Hampton and Lonnie F. Baird of Chester. His remains rest at the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street where services will be held Friday at I1 A.M. Interment Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va.

Mr. Baird lived with his foster mother, Mrs. Jennie Pittman, and retired from the William Byrd Press a few years ago. BELL Willie A. Bell, of 1500 Alaska died Wednesday, January 14, 1975.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred B. Bell, a son W. Alvin Bell, a daughter, Mrs. John B.

Weatherford; two step-sons, George W. Davis and Donald R. Ezzell; two brothers Aubrey and Thomas Bell; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Brightbill, of Jonestown, and Mrs. Edith Frith, of Richmond; four granddaughters, and one grandson.

His remains rest at the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home, 3rd and Marshall Streets, where services will be held Saturday 2 P.M. Interment Maury. Mr. Bell retired from the Virginia Transit Company after 38 years.

He was a former chairman of 4th District Committee of the Virginia State Bar Association and was a former member of the Democratic State Central Committee.

For many years he had a law practice here and had been a director and attorney for tbe Bank of Lunenburg. A graduate of Washington and Lee University Law School, he was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion and the Kenbridge Methodist Church. He was past master of the Kenbridge Masonic Lodge. Coleman said the application for the $23,000 grant still is being evaluated by the Community Services Administration despite the statement from the planning district that the proposed program would be a duplication of services available through the Halifax County welfare office. Coleman said, however, that no statistical data had been presented to prove that the community action agency's proposed program would be a duplication and that the application is still viable. Members of the Board of Supervisors have voiced objections to the grant and the proposed program, but have taken no official stand. Coleman said the Community Services Administration is examining the number of people eligible for the benefits under the proposed fuel assistance and home winterization program, and comparing that data with the number receiving benefits. The issue probably will be heard Tuesday at a work session of the supervisors, when they discuss the question of reappointing themselves to the community action agency's board of directors..
