CHAIRMAN YOUNG REPUBLICAN CLUB CANDIDATE FOR OFFICE The office of Clerk of the County Court for Gasconade County has an able aspirant in the person of Clarence W. Toedtmann of near Hermann, formerly of the Potsdam community. Mr.

Toedtmann, a married man with family, was born and grew to manhood at Potsdam, later attending the State Teachers Training School and State Normal at Warrensburg, after which he taught a number of years in the rural schools of Gasconade County; the past ten years he has been engaged in farming. He has devoted years to the faithful service of the Republican party and is chairman of the Young Republican Club of the northern district of this county. Through education and experience in business and clerical work, party organization and conception of our county's affairs, he is ably qualifled for the duties of the office he seeks. This is the first time Mr. Toedtmann has asked for any award of office at the hands of the voters of the party he as so ably served.

If nominated and elected, he will give his entire time and service to the office. He requests the voters to give him favorable consideration at the coming primary. Neumann and wife of Hermann and has resided there all his life. He has been employed in the shoe factory at Hermann for the past twenty years. When the United States entered the World War, he was among the first of the Gasconade County boys to leave for service and gave two years to the service of the Flag, fourteen months of which time he spent in France and Germany and took part in five major battles, among them the offenses at MeuseArgonne, St. Mihiel and AlsaceLorraine. He is a member of the Schlender-Blust Post American Legion of Hermann.

18, twp. 41, Range 5 West, running thence due South 15 chains; thence in Northeasterly course 10 chains to a point 12 chains due South of the North line of the Northwest qr. of South-east qr. of Sec. 18; Thence North-east to a point 5 chains and 50 links South of the North- West corner of said tract, North-west qr.

of the South -east thence due North 5 chains and 50 links to said corner; thence due West to the point of beginning. All said lands being in Sec. 18, Twp. Range 5, West, and containing in all 102 acres more or less. which said conveyance was made to secure the payment of a certain promissory note in said mortgage deed described; AND, WHEREAS, the aforesaid promissory note, secured by mortgage deed as aforesaid, was for valuable consideration paid, duly assigned by the Farmers and Merchants Bank, Owensville, Missouri, through W.

Fred Korff. visited in Owensville Sunday. Henry Langenberg of near Rosebud is seriously ill. Gilbert Rodgers was home from St. Louis this weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Siewing of St. Louis came out Sunday to spend the week with relatives here. Miss Anna Korff of St.

Louis spent Sunday here. Mrs. Oscar Wehmeyer is reported quite sick. FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH Sunday School 9:30 A. M.

We are losing from our faculty two of our most faithful and efficient teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hutton. We, however, will All their places with others of like kind.

We take pride in exceeding the attendance of a year ago. We ask every pupil to, assist us in this. The pastor will preach at the 10:30 A. M. and 7:30 P.

are asked to attend an officers' meeting for all churches in the Dixon Association at the Belle Baptist Church. The Owensville church as a school of Missions scheduled for February 14-18 inclusive. The school is being sponsored by the Dixon Association of churches, and is also inviting the Burbois Association to participate. Among the teachers are as follows: Rev. and Mrs.

Virgil Nicholson and family moved from the Wm. Mueller property to the Trautwein property in the south part of town Saturday. Miss Auriela Steiner, Miss Paula Lou Lemming, Walter Bunge and Melvin Goers, students at Central Weslyan College at Warrenton, spent the weekend at home. and Mrs. J. A. Boyce two weeks. BLAND METHODIST CHURCH Church night at the Methodist church was well attended Wednesday night in spite of the extreme cold weather.

A covered dish dinner was served to about fifty, others came later to enjoy a special program consisting of congregational singing, special numbers were given by, Mrs. Frank Gray, Erne and Earline Drewell, Erna Keading and Ida Jungeblut. Services for Sunday are as follows: Church School 9:30, no morning service, Epworth League 6:45. Evening services 7:30 P. M.

L. R. LEMMING. Pastor. -VAUGHAN Floyd Branson and Miss Faye Vaughan were married Wednesday evening by Justice of the Peace, Dennis Branson.

They were given a charivari after the ceremony by a group of friends. Mr. Branson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Branson.

Mrs. Branson's home is in Meta. She has been living here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Kinkead.

Rector and Ella Rector, his wife, by their certain school fund mortgage deed dated April 30th, 1932 and recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds in and for the County of Gasconade, State Missouri, in School Fund Mortgage Record Record Book No. 62 at Page 347, conveyed the County of Gasconade 'in the State of Missouri for the use and beneft of the County School Fund, the following described real estate, being and situated in the County of Gasconade and State of Missouri, to-wit: South half of the in quarter and the North-West quarter of the North-West quarter and the West half of the North-East quarter of Section No. 32 Township No. 41 Range 4 West, containing 200 acres more or less.

Which conveyance was made in trust to secure the payment of a certain school fund bond described in said mortage, and WHEREAS, default has been made in the payment of said bond at and after the time that the said bond became due and payable, and WHEREAS, further, the county court of Gasconade County, Missouri, at its November Adjourned Term, on December 30th, 1937, upon such default made by the said N. T. Rector and Ella Rector directed me to advertise the said land for sale for the purpose of collecting the said bond. NOW.
