Weyrich wins state meet try in backstroke; Crosley close At least one Exporter cnullfv. THI BRAZOSPORT, ACTS, uwtt. Exporter swimmer will be In the state meet In Austin next month, second may qualify by then. All four of the swimmers who traveled with Coach Dob Lefflngwell to the University of Texas Invitational Meet Saturday equalled or bettered the best time any Exporter has ever recorded. Rick Weyrich, a senior, qualified for the state schoolboy meet Inthe 100-yard backstroke by a time that placed him Oth among 43 competing.

This meet establishes the pace, and automatically qualifies some, like Weyrich. HELPS RESCUE CRASH VICTIMS Exporter teamwork was called Into use unexpectedly after dark Saturday, as four swimmers ajvi Coach Bob Lefflngwell were returning from an Austin tnoet. An auto approaching from the other direction went out of control, hit a bridge abutment, and ended up with the rear partly under the surface of a stream below. The swimmers saw the accident and were the first on the scene.
