Secretary ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids for the construction of a steel garage building will be received by the Village Board of the Village of Holmen, La Crosse County, Wisconsin, until 7:00 P.M. on the 24th day of February 1964, in the Village Hall at Holmen, Wisconsin. The project includes: 1. The furnishing and erecting of a 40 x60' rigid frame steel building (Bidder may submit alternate bids for a 40 x60' frameless steel building if desired).

2. Construction of reinforced column footings and foundation grade beam. Plans and specifications are on file at the office of the General Engineering Company, Consulting Engineers, Portage, Wisconsin and the Village Clerk, Holmen, Wis. Persons qualified to bid may obtain copies of the plans and specifications at the above place upon making a deposit of $5,00, which amount will be returned to the contractor making a bona fide bid on the work, upon the return of said plans and specifications. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved by the Village, and also the right to award the contract to contractors, who in the judgment of the said Village Board will best serve the interests of the Village.

The provisions of Section 66.29 Wisconsin Statutes shall apply to contracts to be awarded as set forth herein. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or cash equal to of the bid payable to the Village as a guaranty that if the bid is accepted the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within the time limited by the specifications. If the successful bidder SO files the contract and performance bond then upon the execution of the contract, the check or cash deposit will be returned, but in case he fails to SO file an executed contract and performance bond, then the amount of the bid bond, check or cash shall be forfeited 85 liquidated damages. A schedule of wage rates has been determined according to the provisions of Section 66.293 of the Wisconsin Statutes, which schedule 15 on file in the office of the Village Clerk. Barthell 50, of Waukon, died Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Iowa City VA Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Barthell was born Oct.

13, 1913, in Waukon the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Barthell pioneer settlers of the region. He He never is survived married. hoy three sisters, Mrs.

James Ryan of Buell, Iowa, Mrs. George, Nierling of Mabel, Mrs. Diedra Maskmo of Chicago. Services will be held at Martin's Funeral Home in Waukon at 2 p.m. Saturday, and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

HARRY ELLIOTT DE SOTO, Wis. -Harry Raymond Elliott, 63, of De Soto, suffered a heart attack while driving on a town road near De Soto Wednesday, Feb. 5, and died before he could be taken to a hospital. The car had gone over a bank and was discovered by Arthur Bolster, who called a physician. Mr.

Elliott was born Nov. 20, 1900, at Bloom City, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Elliott, and he married Anna Stanek Feb. 28, 1923.

The couple had made their home in De Soto for almost 30 years. Prior to moving to De Soto he was a buttermaker at Retreat. He is survived by his widow; three sons, Dwight of De Soto, Willard of Ferryville and Kenneth of Milwaukee: two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Lorraine) Brzyche of Milwaukee and Mrs. William (Lillian) Hoffmann of Alma, three brothers.

Dewey of Gays Mills, David of La Crosse and Len of Tomahawk; and one sister, Mrs. Claude Klock of Bloom City. WILLIAM LEONARD SPARTA, Wis. William F. Leonard, 69, of Sparta died in a local hospital Thursday, Feb.

6. He leaves no immediate survivors. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Rev.

Frank Brickl officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends were asked to call at Lanham's Mortuary Friday eve- ship, the son of and Mrs. Nels Rauk. He was a lifelong resident of the Spring Grove area, and he married the former Genora Sylling Feb. 3, 1923.

A veteran of World War Mr. Rauk was a member of the local American Legion Post and an do honorary member of the volunteer fire company. He is survived by his widow: one son, Neil of Austin, one daughter, Mrs. W. (Shirley) Turner of Henderson, N.C.; three brothers, Sigurd of Highlandville, Iowa, Rudolph of Caledonia and Harold of Pipestone, and four grandchildren.

Services' will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Rolf Hanson officiating, and burial will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends were asked to call at the Funeral Home el Friday evening and Saturday morning and at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. NORDAHL ANDERSON NORDAHL ANDERSON COON VALLEY, Wis.

Nordahl Anderson, 77, of Leon, died Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Mulder Nursing Home in West Salem. He was a retired farmer and made his home with a daugh-1, ter, Mrs. Norma Svendby, at Leon. The survivors include another daughter, Mrs.

Evelyn Kast of the Leon area; and two grand children. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fish Creek Ridge Lutheran Church, Rev. Edsel Peterson officiating, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Saturday evening at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Coon Valley.
