Florlne Culbertson. public affaire chairman for the Velasco Business Professional Women's Club announced that their group will sponsor a candidate's rally for the forthcoming school election at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Velasco Junior High Gymnasium. The five candidates for the two positions open on the Braz- osporl School Board have accepted invitations to attend the rally, Mrs. Culbertson said.

These include the two incumbents, E. A. Muckelroy of Velasco and Jerry T. Faubion of Lake Jackson, as well as Earl H. Keller of VelasCo and'TJ.

M. Stovall and Michael O. Kavnnaugh, both of Lake Jackson. Dr. J.

M. Russell, mayor of Velasco, will serve as moderator for the rally, and each candidate will present their platforms in the current election. There will also be a question and answer period, for the benefit of the audience, Mrs. Culbertson said. The public is cordially invited to attend the rally.

LULAC Honors Thelmc Willis Public relations consultant Thelma Willis, was advised thi veek by Oscar M. Laurel, na ional president of the LULAC hat she has been made an hon orary member the nationa organization. She is believed to be the oni non-Latin American to be honored by the National LTJLA.C officers. this year, Mrs. Willis was given a similar honor toy the Brazosport LULAC organization.

In his letter to Mrs. Willis, the national president said that the LULAC supreme council bad extended her the honoi-ajw-mem- bcrship while it was meeting Mar. 2B at Carlsbad, N. M. Training Lessons For Cub Leaders Cub leaders of the Quintana District will be given basic traniing in leadership in a series of sessions that begin Friday.

Meetings will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Jackson, and the first, scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, will be on "Fundamentals of Scouting."
