CLARA MCDONALD Mrs Clara E. McDonald, 72, of 2928 S. 23rd died Tuesday, May 4, in a La Crosse hospital. She was born Sept. 20,1903, in Rushford, to Mr.

and Mrs. John Christopherson. She married Sidney McDonald and he died in 1953. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. June Kimball of La Crosse and Mrs.

Donald (Diane) Hart of Pittsburgh, Pa four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Melvin Christopherson of Rushford and Ole of La Crosse. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, a sister and a brother Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Hellwig-Morris-Fossum Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Drollinger will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. CHESTER M. BAILEY HUMBIRD, Wis. Chester M. Bailey, 86, of Humbird died Monday.

May 3, in Family Heritage Nursing Home, Black River Falls, where he had lived for the past few months. He was born April 19, 1890, in Dodgeville to Mr. and Mrs. David Bailey. He married Bernice Cole in Marshfield on May 8, 1919.

Burial will be Mentor Cemetery, Humbird Friends may call at the funer- il home Wednesday from 3 to 9 and Thursday until the MRS. ANN MARIE LEVERENZ SPARTA, Wis. Mrs. Ann Marie Leverenz, 81, of 307 N. Court died Tuesday, May 4, in a Sparta nursing home.

She was born Dec 9, 1894, in Jackson County to Mr and Mrs Carl Lubow. On Jan. 15, 1944, she married Frank W. Leverenz and they farmed in the Sparta area until 1946 when they moved to Sparta. He died March 6,1973 She moved to the Brookside Apartments in May 1975.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Betty Jane) Davison of Sparta; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Roland (Helen) Jones of Sparta; seven grandchildren, 13 grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; five stepgrand- children; seven stepgreat-grand- children; and a brother Albert Lubow of Black River Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 6, 1973, and by a son, Clarence Gaede, a stepgrandchild, two stepsons, a sister and four brothers. Services will be at 2 p.

Friday in the United Methodist Church, Sparta. Rev Stanley P. Wiese will officiate and burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Sparta. Friends may call at the Page- Smith Funeral Home, Sparta, after 4 p.m. Thursday and until noon Friday, and at the church Friday from 1 p.m.

until the LESLIE F. BATEMAN NODINE, Minn. Leslie F. Bateman, 76, of Nodine (R. 1, Dakota) died Tuesday, May 4, in Nodine.

He was born Feb. 2, 1900, in Nodine to Mr. and Mrs Frank Bateman He married Frieda Brose on April 5, 1933, and they farmed for many years in the Nodine area They moved to the Village of Nodine after retiring. Survivors are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Audrey) Radtke of Plainview; two sons, Robert of La Crosse, and Wayne of Plainview; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs.

Goldie Bartz of Dakota and Mrs. Herbert (Pearl) Vollbrecht of La Crescent. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St.

VIVIAN B. NEGARD NEW RICHMOND, Wis. Vivian B. Negard, 83, of New Richmond, died Saturday, May 1, at New Richmond. He was born July 16, 1892, in Timber Creek Valley, Jackson County He married Inez Nepe- rud of Pigeon Falls on Oct.

2, 1926 He farmed in the York area of Jackson County until the late 1940s when he moved to a farm in the Hammond-New Richmond area. He retired two years ago and moved to New Richmond. Survivors are his widow; a daughter. Mrs. John (Margdrie) Hogenson of Edina, a son, Donald of Chaska; six grandchildren; a brother, Bert of Black River Falls; and a sister.

Mrs. John (Lavema) Taylor of Whitehall. Services were Monday in Pigeon Falls Lower Lutheran Church, with Rev. Gordon M. Trygstad officiating and burial in the church cemetery.

Caledonia Sets Nursing Home Open House CALEDONIA, Minn A public open house will be held Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the new nursing home wings of the Caledonia Community Health Care Center, Hollis Onsgard. administrator, announced. Officials will be on hand to conduct tours of the new facii- ties and to answer questions The $890,000 project includes two wings, a south 40 bed skilled care section, and an east 30 bed wing for intermediate care. There are four single-bed rooms, and 33 two-bed rooms.

The project includes new administrative offices, a chapel- multipurpose room, new dining room, arts and crafts room, solarium. beauty shop and several outdoor concrete decks where patients may sit. A new inter- come system also has been installed. The open house had been held up for several weeks awaiting the arrival of furnishings, but Onsgard said most of the furniture has come and will be in place for the open house. Patients are to be moved in next week.

The present one-story wing will be used as the hospital. An old two story section will be vacated, with the first floor to be converted into a medical clinic, and the second floor into rental offices. The $890,000 cost does not include the furnishings. Services for Mrs. Magelee, who died of bone cancer Saturday in St. Hospital, Sparta, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta.
