I "The ui uay after Lizzie disappeared" Mrs DPd her given name "Lfosfo Here howevtr Mr4Murray shows a letter signed jameB Lowell in which the word Lizzie is spelled "Liiza" What Naztt It is not strange that the developments thus for made require the presence iu Lewiston ef James LottelL It seems oertain that three years ago last June Mrs James Lowell mysteriously disappeared from this vicinity and unless her ns baud knows of her whereabouts it does not appear that anybody knows 80 for as at present shown she was last seen with her husband who accounts for her disappearance as already stated As he olaims to have heard from her since her disappearance it may be that he can shed some light on her preseut whereabouts if living On the contrary her friends here think her dead and believe that ths head leas skeleton is her remains Arrest As soon as developments were made Coroner Brooks advised the -City Marshal of the foots That officer telegraphed offioer Wiggin of this oity tn route for Lawrence and intercepted him Offioer proceeded to Lowell Mass where Mr was at work and arrested him Thursday evening The officer had no requisition neither was he aware of the nature vf the oharge preferred but Lowell made no oLjeotion and said he would oome to Lewiston without any requisition Lowell was taken to Lawrence and put in oiu tody Thursday night Offioer Wiggin telegraphic for instructions and the reply was returned "Bring Lowell to Lewiston" Be ClUMKffea'lila Mind At 8 Friday City Marshal Richardson received from Offioer Wiggm the following dispatch "Lawrence Mass Lowell n-flucs to come unless he is informed what he is arrested for" The City Marshal having just returned from Augusta with a requisition in his pocket for Lowell's return to Maine left in the 4:15 train Friday-for Lawrence and will return with the prisoner on the 8 traiu Saturday Meantimo a preliminary examination will probably be had soon and a fair opportunity given the prisoner ta explain the mystery if ae oan or relieve fCjumself from the grave suspicions resting upon nim should they prove to be unfounded in feet Ordination and Installation Mr A Tinker on Thursday interpretation of the divine life The same division still parts the minds of Christendom Some now sec in Christ nothing hut a human blossom others see him coming from Heaven 8ouie see in the Bible truth on a higher level than in any other book Others are in this book only a compilation of ancient literature a creation of human imagination There is a change of eharaoter which we daily obsetve things whioh were once repulsive now hold one by a deep tesoination rhe Bible is a new book Some see iu this obange something supernatural in answer to the ory ef faith feme men oall this ohange regeneration Others call it and say the man is not new creature but an old one tiying to do better Why should men see different things looking at the same object The reason is in ourselves Some common mental feature belongs to one class whioh is wanting in the other It is not an intellectual difference Men of great acuteness and attainment have discorded the Bible although generally the greatest minds have accepted the Christian frith The1 reason of this difference lies in the feeling not in the talent Some men care and others care not for their highest self One class has no sense of the deep need Such men only care to feed the superficial part of their nature Other men labor under a sense of having a soul they occupy their whole being They feel the need of being harmonised with moral universe It was not the wise nnd prudent to whom the revelation came bat to tbe humble in response to a longing No man will starve to death because dou blful if some strange food will nourish him The Bible was not given to satisfy mere curiosity and it is not strange that' those who seek to satisfy a groping inquisitiveness go away without gratification Infidelity is not a misapprehension of evidence it is a sdf-aatisfactiota Intellectual error grows out of this state of mind The mind works wroogly because iff' the unbelief Its origin is in the temper of the souL Tbs'" present age is
