EWEN, Joyce with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mom, Joyce Ewen. She passed in her sleep on Thursday night February 17, 2022 and the world changed forever. Mom was 94 years old this year and will be dearly missed by friends and family. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Ben Ewen and her 9 siblings, Helen, Hazel, Vera, Pearl, Jack, Lorne, Jim, Earl and Sunny (Burton). Forever missing their beloved Mom- Grant (Del), Tamara (Gordon), Chandra (Rob).

Devoted Grammy to Sylvana (Domenic), Amarylis (Carlos), Zara, Ciara (Allister), Kohl, Hanson and Hayden. Also dearly missing their Great-Grammy- Remy, Xander, Iyla and Hendrix. Mom was one of a kind, a strong beautiful woman who was an example to us all. She came from humble beginnings, being raised on a farm in Saskatchewan with her 9 siblings in a 2 bedroom farmhouse. The mindset of simple life and hard work that she learned there stuck with her throughout her life.

After our father passed away unexpectedly in November 1972, mom remained a widow in order to have us kids as her primary focus (as kids we realize the sacrifice). Life was hard but she never complained. She was overjoyed when she got the job at the post office, even though it meant getting up at 4:30, it was worth it to be able to provide for us. She worked in the post office well into her 80s (just to keep busy she said). What a work ethic.

Famous for her apple pies, and beautiful tablecloths her many family dinners were anticipated events. Mom was treasured by family and friends alike with many, many people referring to her as Grammy. As mentioned before, the world has changed. Grammy is gone, but she lives on in the hearts and memories of those who loved her. We love you so much Mom.

Your memory is forever emblazoned on our hearts. FRIESEN, Katie (Kay) Jun 3, 1927 Feb 24, 2022 Katie went to be with her Lord in the afternoon of February 24, 2022. Born on the Ritchie homestead near Corrine, Kevin spent his life in the Wilcox area. He became an RM administrator in 1978 for the RM of Lake and took on the same job for the Village of Wilcox shortly after. In 1986, he and Tammy fell in love. They married in 1988 and have been inseparable since, raising Dane, Sarah and Christopher, and miraculously working side-by-side in the same office for their entire careers.

had trouble making a list of all his volunteer activities and summarizing a life dedicated to his family, community and friends. From the school board to the rec board, the fire department to the minor hockey association, the Optimist Club and countless baseball teams, it seemed like he was involved in everything and he made sure his kids were too. His loved ones will remember his teasing, quiet generosity, respect, integrity, humility and intense work ethic. It seems a whole generation of people who grew up in the Wilcox area, Pilot Butte and beyond know him as Coach Kevin, the one with the great sense of humour and the pitching machine that only stopped running when the sun fully set. Never one to ask for help, Kevin stubbornly insisted on taking things on himself and doing them right.

That made for some colourful experiences, like the time he spent a whole day cursing the new bathroom faucet for refusing to install properly. Even when MS took his balance he insisted on rototilling the garden and snow blowing the driveway. Between hockey, baseball, work, the RMAA and SARM boards, and everything else he dedicated his time to you could not take the man on a quick trip anywhere. He seemed to know everyone. going to be missed terribly by the love of his life, Tammy; children Dane, Sarah and Chris and their loving partners; grandson Grayer; mom Elaine; sisters Cathy, Laura and Janice; along with sisters and brothers-in-law; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews; friends and teammates; and Pixie the little pal he claimed he want.

Instead of flowers, love you to consider donating to either the Hospitals of Regina Foundation or Operation Smile, his favourite charity. He brought many smiles over the years and he would appreciate it if we carried that on. never want us to sit and cry over him or make a fuss although we will so a celebration of life was held at DoubleTree Hotel, 1975 Broad Street, Regina 2nd Floor in the Moose Jaw Room on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 starting at 3:00 p.m. and the program following at 3:30 p.m. Those wishing to view a livestream of the service, please log onto: http://www.livememorialservices.com/Home/ServiceDetail/19941.
