44 THE Alice Alice Gudrun Bodden, late Rosedale, passed away in 'Chilliwack on August 2003 at the age 49. She was born on December 1953 in Chilli- CHILLIWACK PROGRESS, Friday, August 15, 2003 ROBERTSON Obituaries and Anna Vogt; her sister Mary; and brothers, Peter and Ben. The family would like to thank Eden Rest Home, Henderson's Funeral Home, Dr. Quinton Smith, and First Greendale Mennonite Church for all of their love and caring. HUEBERT, Erna IF 604-792-1344 HENDERSON'S Erna Huebert passed away in Abbotsford on August 12, 2003 in her 91st year.

Funeral services will be held at the Broadway Church on Friday, Aug. 15, 2003 at 1 p.m. Rev. Wilf Richert officiating. Interment in Chilliwack Cemeteries.

Erna is survived by five children; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ewald in 1998; one daughter; and two grandchildren. KNICKEL, Phyllis Lena Phyllis Lena Knickel (nee Marchant) passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at age 95 years. She was born June 20, 1908 in Sussex, Eng- KNICKEL land.

Phyllis is survived by her loving and devoted husband Edwin; children, Donna Babcock, and Dianne Barr (Leonard); grandchildren, Kelly, Christopher, Joseph, Daniel, David, and Julianne; great-grandchild Jeffrey. She was predeceased by her sister Irene; brothers, George, Ron, and Albert; and son-in-law David. Phyllis went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family whom she dearly loved and cherished. She passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital. Her devoted husband and family were the joy of her life.

It always gave her great pleasure to cook, sew, and crochet for them. Her other interests included playing the organ, lawn bowling, and she was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Phyllis was especially blessed to have her granddaughter Kelly R.N. at her side both at home and in the hospital. A special heartfelt thanks to the dedicated nursing staff on Nursing Unit 4 and Medical Short Stay Unit at the Chilliwack General Hospital for the loving care Phyllis received and deep appreciation to Dr.

H. Bright and Dr. Katie Wilson. She is greatly loved and will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched. A private family memorial will be held in Celebration of her Life.

Woodlawn 604-793-4555 MAGUIRE, Doris (nee Wood) Doris Maguire (nee Wood) late of Young Rd. and formerly of Spadina Chilliwack, passed away August 12, 2003 at the age of 84. Doris was born July 27, 1919 in London, England. After working in London, she married in 1943 and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Much of her life was challenging as she moved to various places as the wife of a military man, with Vancouver and Chilliwack as the last places for her to settle.

Doris spent many years as a housewife and she bore five children. She was an avid reader, lover of classical music, and enjoyed knitting and crosswords. She had strong opinions and loved a good discussion. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Evangelical Missionary Church, 9310 Williams Chilliwack on Monday, Aug. 18, 2003 at 1:30 p.m.

Officiating Mr. Michael Brent Tolmie. Doris is survived by Peter and Roberta of Coquitlam, Margaret and. Wallis of North Vancouver, ROBERTSON Margaret Margaret Robertson passed away August 10, 2003 in Chilliwack at the age of 88, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 9, 1915 in Bruderheim, and educated in that She married Clem Stelter in 1939 and they came to B.C.

in 1951 and lived in the Lower Mainland before coming to Chilliwack in 1960. They owned Riverside Resort in the 1960s until the death of Clem in 1964. She lived for a period time on Vancouver Island after marrying her second husband Seymour (Robbie) Robertson. They enjoyed making pottery and travelling together. Margaret enjoyed her family, taking delight in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed her garden and loved flowers. Predeceased by her first husband Clem Stelter (1964), and her second husband Seymour Robertson (1991). Lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen (Wayne) Frank of Chilliwack; son Doug (Carol) Stelter of Maple Ridge; grandsons, Randy (Tracy) Frank of Prince George, and Ryan (Candy) Frank of Terrace; great-grandchildren, Kristen, Ashley, Gillian and Travis; brother Ren Frederking of California; sisters, Charlotte Hill of Chilliwack, Eleanor (George) Schlosser of Calgary, and Dorothy Wedder of Victoria; niece Alice Stein of Chilliwack; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003 at 1 p.m.

at Henderson's Funeral Home, Chilliwack, with a tea to follow in the Henderson's Funeral Home Tea Room. We would like to thank Dr. K. Ho for his care of Margaret, and a special thank you to the caring staff of The Waverly, her home for the past two-and-one-half months. Jim served with the Canadian Army in Europe during the Second World War. The Department of Veteran's Affairs to be thanked for their services to him in his last years of life.

Returning home, he was eventually ordained in the Presbyterian Church of Canada, then heard the Voice of the Shepherd in the Divine Revelation of and continued his service to God through the work of that community. A memorial service is being arranged by the of Chilliwack. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends at the Stone Soup Book Bazaar which he operated for many years together with his dear friend Julia Griffin. Interment in Mission, near the resting place of his brother Ian who predeceased him, will take place with the assistance of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers or cards, prayers be offered, and, if any are so moved, donations be made in his name and honour to the charity of your Helen and Michael of Chilliwack, Patrick of Maple Ridge, and Michael of Chilliwack; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; step-brother Joe of London, England; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 1990; and sister Elizabeth in 1988. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Lydia Geng. Alice will be remembered fondly by her family, niece, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends. Alice loved to read, paint, work in her flower garden and travel but her heart was always at home. Her pride and joy were her three children whom she taught to live, to be the best that they could be, and that good enough just wasn't good enough. Her inner strength kept the family together throughout her long illness.

The joy that was always in her heart, the smile on her lips, and the twinkle in her eyes allowed her loved ones to find peace within themselves and to go on with their daily lives. She will be forever in our hearts. Flowers gratefully declined donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Chilliwack Hospice Society. Special thanks to the Home Care nurses, Palliative Social Workers, and the Chilliwack General Hospital ECU staff for all their help and support through the trying times. DAVIES Luella Margaret Luella Margaret Davies late of Chilliwack, formerly of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug.

9, 2003 in the Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of 69 years. She was born on April 25, 1934 in Thunder Bay, Ont. and has lived in the Chilliwack area for the last 30 years. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Davies was held at 10 a.m.

on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilliwack. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Luella is survived by her son Philip; daughter Janet; son-in-law Nelson; grandchildren, Carole, Valerie and Lindsey Davies, and Shane, Sandy, and Kenneth Poirier; as well as her aunt Roberta Farell, and many cousins. She was predeceased by one son Kenneth Davies; twin sister Elinor Danielisky; and her mother and father.
