FUGITIVE FOUND AndUroughtlinck to Answer for 31artler In a difficulty in Knott county some six or seven years since which grevr outof a scuifile commenced in friendship Daniel Hays killed Martin Dingus and fearing the strong arm of the law made tracks fori the WesL De was subsequently indicted by the Grand Jury of Knott connty for murder butlie has been a fugitive from justice since the commission of the crime A short time since however IVilburn JIall Esq a practicing attorney of Hindman the counrv seat of Knott learned of the fugi tives location in Kansas Communicating with Gov Knott as to his knowledge he was appointed a special agent to bring him back to Kentucky Accompanied Lewis Hays county clerk of Knott and cousin and brother-in-law of Daniel Hays the criminal Mr Hall went to Kansas about 10 days since and found his man at Hartlin that State He was working as section boss on the railroad at that place which position he had satisfactorily filled for about three years the expressed opinion of his acquaintances being that he was a sober industrious man He made no resitance nor did he demur to coming to Kentucky to stand his trial which will come up at the November term of the Knott Circuit Court The party consisting of Messrs Hall and Lewis Hays Daniel Hays prisoner and Mrs Hays wife of tlie prisoner and sister of Lewis arrived here on Friday evening last They were guests of the Pieratt House overnight and left Saturday morning for KnotL From what we conld gather the prisoner is anxious for his trial The witnesses have been spirited away or died
