Rev. W. Holzer officiated, and burial was in St. Cemetery at Paint Rock. She was born to Mr.

Douglas Boardman April 18, 1903, in Harpers Ferry, where she spent her entire life. She married Ben Gavin in February 1933 and for a number of years clerked in Melaven's Store. Her husband preceded her in death. Surviving are one Mrs. Clem Schulte of Harpers Ferry; one son.

Thomas of Cedar Rapids; four brothers and four sisters; and nine grandchildren. MRS. BESS GARVEY PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Mrs. Bess Garvey, 90, formerly of Prairie du Chien, died Sunday, April 20, in a Chicago hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of James Garvey.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Catho- i lie Church at Prairie du Chien, the Rt. Rev. Msgr.

J. Francis Brady officiating, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends were to call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Otteson and Garrity Funeral Home, where the Rosary was to be at 8 p.m. Mrs. Garvey is survived by one son.

Mrs. Gus Hanson, 82. died in a Viroqua hospital Saturday, April 19. Services will be at 2 m. Wednesday in the Westby-Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, Rev.

H. 0. Aasen officiating, and burial will be in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning. She was born March 19, 1887, to Mr.

and Mrs. Christian Aarness on a farm near Westby and married Gus Hanson April 18, 1887. They resided on a farm in the area. Survivors are her husband; a foster daughter, Mrs. Ray Brendum of Westby; and two brothers, Morgan of Westby and Archie of Cashton.

The Anderson Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements. VIVIAN SIDIE i VIROQUA, Wis. Vivian Sidie, 71, of Viroqua died Monday, April 21, in a Viroqua hos-. pital. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Thursday in the Jacobson and Vance Funeral Home, Rev. ane Clark officiating, and burial will be in the Hawkley Cemetery in lower Newton Valley. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Miss Sidie was born in Vernon County Nov. 18, 1894, to Mr.

and Mrs. John Sidie. She is survived by one brother, Scott of Viroqua, and nieces and nephews. FRANK MACHOVEC HILLSBORO, Machovec, 72, of Hillsboro died Sunday, April 20. in a Marshfield hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Hillsboro, Rev. James D. Geyer officiating, and burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery at Hillsbore.

Friends were to call at the Picha Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Tuesday to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Rosary was to be said at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Machovec was born Aug. 11, 1896. in the Town of Henrietta, Richland County to Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph Machovec. He married Cecelia Vlasak Nov. 18. 1919. The couple farmed in the Town of Glendale.

Monroe County, until they retired and moved to Hillsboro. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. William (Evelyn) Verbsky of rural Hillsboro, Mrs. Raymond (Lillian) Pisha of rural Kendall and Mrs.

Beverly Schumann of Hillsboro; one sister, Mrs. Edward McVicar of Kenosha; brothers, Wencil and Charles, both of rural Yuba; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. ALFRED BECHTEL LANSING, Bechtel, 80, of Lansing, died Sunday evening, April 20, in a Waukon nursing home. He was a retired farmer.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Burke Funeral Chapel at Lansing. Rev. Alvin Ebert officiating, and burial will be in the Lansing Ridge Cemetery. Friends were to call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening.

A shuttle bus is continuing to transport about 150 persons between Prairie du Chien and Marquette over the Mississippi River Bridge, although the bridge remains closed to general traffic. The bus has to travel through about one foot deep water on the highway at the east approach to the bridge.
