Algono, (In.) U PP »r Pt« Melnn Tuwdey, May 10, 1966 LT. COMMANDER Virgil Forsberg, U. S. N., Norfolk, Vsu, , spent the past week here visiting ' his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Forsberg, his sisters, Mrs. Robert Winter and Mrs. Don Winkel, and his brother, Howard, here. He is a 1940 graduate of Algona high and will retire after 25 years active duty in June, 1967. MR. AND MRS. Francis McConnell were visited recently by Mr. and Mrs. Dan McConnell and Vickie and a friend, Paul Helgason. BOB AND Jimmie Bernau, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bemau of Charles City, spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gilbert, while the parents were attending a meeting in Des Moines. The oldest son, David, stayed at Whittemore with the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.' Roland Bernau. MRS. MILTON Dahl spent'the weekend at Rock Rapids with her son, Craig Vinson and wife. Mrs. Vinson is making good recovery for a disc ailment which has troubled her for some time. MR. AND MRS. Albert Granzow were visited Saturday by their son, Rev. Boyd Granzow and family, New Ulm, Minn. KATHLEEN Griffin, who teaches in the school system at Garner, spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Mel Griffin. MRS. HILDA GronwaU has returned from California where she spent the past six months at San Diego with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Sayles, and at Fullerton with her son and daughter-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gronwall. She made the trip via plane and upon landing at Minneapolis spent a few days with another son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gronwall. MR. AND MRS. Albert Hagg are expected this week from Monrovia Calif, and will spend the summer here with various relatives and friends. MRS. TOM Ellefson, sister of Mrs. John Hanselman, is expected home this week from Mason City where she had surgery at the Memorial hospital, formerly known as Park hospital. MR. AND MRS, DonHemming- sen and Connie left Saturday for Lake of the Ozarks where they will be met by Mr. and Mrs. Don Akre, Jefferson City, Mo. The daughter, Becky, will be house guest of Rev. and Mrs. Walter Morz during her parent's absence. They will be gone till Wednesday, MR. AND MRS. Gene Heimer had the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Martin, Clarion, as Mother's Day guests, MR. AND MRS, L, E. Hovey went to Hampton Saturday to visit their son, Eldon and family and to see a parade, Mr. and Mrs, Gordon Hauck of Humboldt were recent guests of the parents, Mr, and Mrs, L, E. Hovey. MR, AND MRS. Fred Christensen, parents of Mrs, Kenneth Harris, Ed Henderson, Milwaukee, her uncle, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crane, Dickens, are spending a ten-day vacation in the Ozarks area, MR. AND MRS. John Hayes spent Mother's Day at Ottumwa with Mrs. Hayes' mother, Mrs. E. L. Kirkpatrick, who is in a rest home there. Her borne was formerly at Keota. MRS. EDNA RICHTER, Titonka, has been dismissed from the Britt hospital and for a time is with her daughter here, Mrs. Harold Smith. MR, AND MRS. Herb Hedlund were visited over the weekend by the latter's mother, Mrs. Neva Monger, Spencer. Dinner guests Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Munger and family, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Colwell, Ames, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ganger, Peterson. In the afternoon, open house was held at the Robert Hungers, whose silver wedding anniversary was observed. MR. AND MRS. Glen Jenkinson spent from last Friday till Tuesday at Maquoketa with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lafayette. She is an R. N. and still does some work at the Jackson county hospital. MR. AND MRS. Jess Dugan had as guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. William Kelly, Sioux Falls, S. D., and Mr. and Mrs. Nick Behrends, Lakota. MR. AND MRS. Ernie Georg went to Albert City Sunday to visit Mrs. Georg's mother, Mrs. E. 0. Danielson at a rest home. She had been hospitalized for .some time at Sioux Rapids.
