DEATH TOLL RISES CHICAGO, March 28 QUO The nation's motorists set a' fatal pace during February for the "worst month In two years, the National Safety Council said today. The Council cited 2,170 deaths from traffic accidents in the year's shortest month. The figure represented a 10 per cent Increase over February, 1939, and was the fifth consecutive month of Increasing toll on American highways. Through the first nine months of 1939, the Council reported an average two per cent reduction in traffic deaths. Beginning October 1, however, the rate of -fatalities mounted above previous levels.

Kane Is compiling first facts from all parts of the country which are of great interest and will publish the book containing these events.
