Ledyard Girl Bancroft Man's Bride-To-Be Algona, (Id.) Upper Dct Mofftft* Tuesday, May 3, 1966 with any more of that kidding. Mrs. Vlnnie Layttion spent a wonderful afternoon reliving the good old days when Clarence Heston of Los Angeles, Calif, was a caller. They had spent their childhood days together in Indiana and Mr. Heston continues to take the hometown paper so they had a lot of catching up to do before Mr. Heston continued his trip to Indiana. Another busy young woman is missed around town these days as Mrs. Don PeCoy has started working daytime hours at least until school is out. Maybe by then they will have found good water in that well and she won't have to spend her days looking at that drilling rig making a bigger pile of sand in the yard. Maybe they could take a lesson from Sam Miller on getting things done. Did you ever see an old house disappear so fast and a new one going up already in it's place? The State highway department is sure giving Sexton it's share of attention lately. They are a mighty efficient gang though since they had to put in a driveway at the back of the store they made enough of a ditch doing the job they won't have to put that no parking sign back up. Now there isn't anyplace left to park. They also seem to have founder a solution to speeders, since they couldn't slow down the traffic, they raised the speed limit sign to 55 instead of the old 45 mile per hour sign. There should be some action on the road building program around the country, now that Art Hix has started back to work. Maybe with the better class of dogs showing up it will be DELORES KREBSBACH Mr. and Mrs. Jack Krebsbach of Ledyard announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Delores Ann, above, to Richard Louis Kahler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kahler. Miss Krebsbach is a 1965 graduate of Ledyard high school and a 1966 graduate of La'James College of Hairstyling in Mason City. Mr. Kahler is a 19C2 graduate of St. John's high school in Bancroft. A May 28th wedding is being planned at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Ledyard. Illl I SEXTON I SIllllllllllllllllUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIUIIIIIIIUIIIIIIIIIIIIllliUIIIIIHIlli SEXTON - A birthday party for Mrs. A. Genrich of LuVerne at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Evert Steven turned into a real celebration. By coincedence the family received a phone call from Howard Smith of Lu Verne that afternoon. Mr. Smith is a ham radio operator and was passing along a message he had picked up from another operator. It said, "only arrived safe and all is well", but it made the Steven family very happy as it was Rick Steven who had landed in Frankfort, Germany courtesy of the US. Army. Mr. and Mrs. John Jennings were among a number of relatives who made a trip to Fairmont, Minn, during the past week to congratulate his sister, Mrs. Julia Taft on reaching her 86th birthday. She seems to have reached this age in a style we might all envy as the day before the Jennings visit, she had walked 14 blocks to call on a friend who had been ill. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Taft of Ames visited here at the John Jennings home on their way home from Fairmont also. Mr, and Mrs. Lyle Alexander were callers at the Clarence Huff home one evening and had just enjoyed the company of their son Rodney, who has been in Italy with the navy. He is now on the way to the Phillipines and eventually will be in the Viet Nam area. News of a former Sexton family was good with the announcement of a baby girt for toe Eddie Larsens weighing in at 8 Ibs, at the Britt hospital, Mrs. Nell Opheim and Clair Hoveys were part of the wel* coming party for the new Baptist minister. Weil, with the departure of Rev. Arthur Hicks from Algona, a.t. least Art Hix of Sexton won't have to put up Jaycee ANNUAL SANDBOX PROJECT May 4th - May 7th Wheelbarrows of Sand . $1.00 Tire For Sand $1.50 - CALL NOW - 295-2280 * 295-2594 * 295-2169 Sponsored By ALGONA JAYCEES (33-34) USED CARS 1965 CHEVROLET IMPALA, 4 dr. hardtop, V-8, Auto. trans., Power steering, R & H ................ $2395 1965 FORD GALAXIE 500, 4 dr. Another of the better type to make it's home here since the blizzard is a very friendly Dal- mation with a large silver chain around if s neck. Mrs. Gabrielson would appreciate the owner claiming it or anyone else in* terested in a good pet as it seems to prefer living in the house with them instead of outside with all those cats. The phone company is passing up a good bet when they advertise their extension phones. They should use Glenn Gabrielson as an example since he had one put in on the back porch. Seems after the third time of taking off some stubborn boots only to find the line busy he ordered the new phone when he finaly did get the line. At least he doesn't have to take off his boots now when the phone Is busy. .:• "KMratk Coanty'i Newspiper" Do you know what month this is? o MAY IS NATIONAL TAVERN MONTH This is National Tavern Month—the time when America's brewers pay special tribute to the friendly folk who serve the friendly brew.
