The Frauneder Ornamental Iron Works has the contract for the bronze grill work on the beautiful residence being completed for B. B. Dudley, Vlsalla, Cal.

Architect Alvln J. Stern, 306 Fourteenth street, Oakland, drew the plans. The bronze door grills are beautifully patterned In original designs and the large 5 by 3 feet ventilators for the heating and ventilating system are of artistic woven flat wire done In bronie. if. ifi if.

Dixon, Vettel Cornish, 1108 East Twelfth street, report a contract for making a set of furniture of fifteen pieces for the. living room In the residence of J. A. Silveira. Glnezera wood, a hardwood from Central America, will be used.

This wood gives a beautiful finish and together with the original designs to be used In the making of this set It will he as beautiful a set of furniture as can be found anywhere. The California and Hawaiian Sugar Refining Company, Crockett, will make considerable advanced Improvements at this plant. A power station is contemplated where all the boilers and engines will be centered and the power used in operating the machinery will be electricity. A mammoth smokestack is now being erected. The base will be 42 feet and the top 14 feet, "while the height will reach the dizzy proportions of 225 feet.

It will be constructed of reinforced concrete. The Manufactures Bureau has received numerous letters from the cities visited by the trade extension boosters on their annual trip to Chlco. The tone of these letters la highly flavored with enthusiastic demands for next year's trip, showing the feeling Is of the deepest regard for the Spirit of encouragement radiated by the Oakland delegation.
