At a joint meeting of the boards of trustees of the Reno county high school and the. Nickerson college, held at Nickerson yesterday after noon, the relationship of the two in-1 stitutlons was thoroughly discussed, and the contract was renewed by which the two Institutions are main tained as one. The faculty was elected for the ensuing year, with the exception of two vacancies. There are four chang- es in the faculty. Miss Frances Brew- ster.

instructor in German language and literature, resigned and will be succeeded by Miss Violetta Garrett, late of the Larned high school. Miss Ella Archer resigned as 11 hrarian and Miss Osborn, of Nickerson was elected in her place. Victor E. Chesky, instructor in biology and agriculture and Harry C. Lehman, physical director, resigned.

Their places have not yet been filled. The Faculty Re-elected. The following were re-elected on the faculty: Edward Birge Smith, principal, his tory and civics, pedagogy. Arthur Sinclair Hull, physical sciences and mathematics. Helen Estella Smith, Latin and ancient history.

He is a news- paper man and was" formerly editor RICHARD L. METCALFE. of the Omaha World Herald. While a reporter on that paper previous to becoming editor, be was given an as signment to report the first speech Mr. uryan ever delivered in Omaha.

He came to Lincoln some years ago to Decome assocut editor of Mr. Bryan's paper. Tbe Commoner. Mr. Metcalfe is author of a number of lit erary productions, among which are tji boca Is the Kingdom" and "Bishop Sunbeams," both ot which have gone inrosgn many editions.
