We personally recommend and guarantee Rexall Orderlies as the safest and most dependable remedy, which we know, for constipa- tion and associate bowel disorders. We have such absolute faith in the virtues of this remedy that we sell it on guarantee of money back in every instance where it fails to give entire satisfaction, and we urge all in need of such medicine to try it at our risk. Rexall Orderlies are eaten jast ike candy, are particularly prompt and agreeable in action, may be taken at any time, day or night; do nt cause diarrhca, nausea grip ing, excessive looseness, or other undesirable effects. They have a very mild but positive action upon the organs with which they come in contact, apparently acting as a regulative tonic upon the relaxed musculor coat of the bowel, thus overcoming weakness and aiding to restore the bowels to more vig crous and healthy activity. Rexall Orderlies commonly com pieteiy relieve constipation, ex cept of course when of a surgical character.

They also tend to over come the necessity of constantly taking laxatives to keep the bow els in normal condition. Three sizes of packages, 10 cents, 25 cents and 50 cents. Remember, you can obtain Rexall Remedies in La Pla ta only at our store The Rexall Store. F. B.

Chkirtie. SHIFTING RESPONSIBILITY. The retailers, and not the trusts, nor the tariff, are responsi ble for the ever increasing cost of living in the United States." At least, if the semi-official statements as to the work of the tariff board are to be believed, this is the kind of a report that is to emanate from that body. "Up with the tariff rates! Down with the dry goods merchant and the corner grocer!" will likely be the protectionist cry from now henceforward until November, 1912. The tariff board, composed of protectionists and near protectionists, started out with the obvious determination of finding the tariff not guilty, and they intend to return such a ver dict, even though the political heavens fall.

PATENT LAWYERS, SUTEERUXD'8 EiSLE EYE SILT? Til A Nh'SGl VI SO THOUGHTS As the holiday season approaches, reminding us of the close of an other year, would it not be well for each citizen of La Plata tw take a retrospective view of the past year and recall the many blessings it has brought to him. Most of us have much to be thankful for, but there arc a few in this, as in all communities to whom the past year has brought little in the way of happiness; into whose life no sunshine has fallen. Right in our midst are those who have been less fortunate than ourselves and who may at the present time be in absolute need. Why not organize a "Sunshine Society" in La Plata and prepare an offering for the poor of our community. A little substantial aid cheerfully given or even a kind word of sympathy would do much to brighten the life of some poor mortal in distress.

La Plata should have an organization of this kind it would make this a better place in which to live and be a worthy tribute to our Christian citizenship. NOTICE TO M. B. A'S. Members of the M.

1911. NEWS AND EDITORIAL NOTES Although the regular or stand-pat. Republican organization has carried a majority of members of the New Mexico legislature chosen thre weeks ago, indications are that one Democrat and one progressive Republican will be elected Senators. Will some one explain why courts, prosecutors aud juries find it more difficult to get evidence on which to convict violators of the local option laws than for violations of other statues? There seems to be no disposition by many good citizens to hold people responsible who sell whiskey in open violation of law. Kifksville Journal.

If Missouri Democrats will lay aside the question as to who will be Missouri's candidate for the presidency and arrange for a state convention at as early a date as possible where the qualifications of the candidates may be considered the Democratic nominee, for president in 1912 may be a Mis-souriun. Anyhow lets avoid factional strife and turn our guns on the enemy. A good live Commercial Club would be of inestimable value to La Plata. For proof we can look about us and see the towns which are forging to the front and in every case they have a live commercial The object of the club should be to take in charge anything affecting the interest of the town, such as answering inquiries and pushing propositions that would be valuable to the jcity and many other things effecting the welfare of the city could be better handled through a Commercial club than by private individuals. Will not some of our business men take the matter in hand? Last Friday at sunrise a young man, Henry Clay Beattie by name, was put to death in the penitentiary at Richmond, for the cold blooded murder of his young wife. Beattie was another example of the petted and spoiled child, a victim of the folly ot over indulgent parents. He was born to a life of luxury and idleness with everything that heart could wish or wealth acquire.
