The circle decided to give aid to a missionary in Ohio. The guest speaker was Thelma Andrews, a former New Philadelphia resident now living in Uhrich Mile who is a missionary appointee to the Philippines. She told of the work with the various Indian tribes in Mexico and displayed articles of clothing and needle work made by them. It was announced that the fifth annual missionary conference will be held from January 10th to the loth. During the social hour, lunch was served by Mrs.

gave an interesting talk concerning Egypt's position in world affairs when the International Relations Study Group of A A U. VV. met last evening. Mrs. Kane presented historical background, facts concerning the recent Egyptian revolution and pointed out the tremendous economic and social problems which face Egypt.

During the discussion period which followed, members of the group considered what the United policy should be regarding Egypt. The meeting was held at Mrs. C. A. home on Race Dover.

An effective yellow and white color scheme was carried out in 'the elaborate decorations of the chapter room. Large baskets of yellow chrysanthemums, together with candelabra holding lighted white tapers were placed against a backdrop of white satin on which was painted a golden sheaf of barley. When refreshments were served in the dining room at the close of I the evening, a profusion of Oregon cedar branches, gold Christmas or- i naments and lighted yellow tapers formed a pretty setting. A A M. 4 4 4 Altar Group Gives To Building Fund When sixteen members of Altar Society of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Midvale met last eve -1 ning the church basement, they I presented a check for SI OOO to the Rev. Fr. Dermody for the church I building fund.

There were six guests at the meeting which was opened with prayer by Fr. Dermody. A bake sale was planned for Friday. De cember 23rd. at 1:00 p.

m. in Hall in Midvale. Plans also were made for a turkey and chicken dinner to be served on January 29th in the church basement. Christmas gifts were exchanged and prizes at games went to Mrs. John Dermody, Mrs.

Mrs. Riel Presents Dover Newcomers' Club Program An excellent musical program was presented by Mrs. Charles Riel of Dover when the Dover Newcomers' Club met yesterday afternoon at Union Country Club. The meeting began with luncheon and guests were Mrs. Edith Bolt.

Christmas gifts were exchanged. Plans were formulated to present gifts to a needy family and to assist the family financially. Mrt William Mitchell and Mrs. Kenneth ji nsen will be in charge of the project. Mrs.

Beta Sigma Sorority GRANGE NEWS Discusses Recipe Contest -------------Members of Sigma Phi sorority met Monday evening in their rooms in Dover and details concerning a recipe contest, being sponsored by the International Chapter of the Sorority, were explained. Members of the local group who are interested in entering the contest arc to take their favorite recipes to the Doc. 19 Christmas party in the sorority rooms. Announcement was made that, preceding the party, a business session will be held and money and used toys for several needy families will be collected at that time.
