EFFIE Teeter had as Easter Sunday guests Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Larson, Burt, Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson and John Jr., Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Broesder, Lone Rock, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Arend. MR. AND MRS. John Sires had as Easter weekend guests their daughter, Jeanie, and John Bushnell of Chicago. MRS. EVELYN Makuuchi and Jamie, Davenport, will spend the Easter weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul James. MR. AND MRS. John Kohlhaas returned home April 6 after spending three months at Corpus Christi, Tex. They also toured Mexico and other points of interest in Tex. MARVIN E. Waller, a retired army officer, is here on a visit with his brother, R. B. Waller and family. He has been making his home on the East Coast, but had visited in California and is enroute back east. MRS. FRANK Vera returned last week from Phoenix, Ariz, where she had spent several months with her daughter Elvie, Mrs. Don Johnson and the grandsons, Ted, Tom and Joe, Hutchison. MRS. HAZEL Vera and Mrs. Elizabeth Post spent Thursday at Mason City with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Burbank. MR. AND MRS. H. L. Hoenk have returned from Isla Morada, Fla. where they have spent the past five winters. The son Joe lives at Lackland, Fla. and visited them, and the son, Dr. Gene is a resident doctor at the University hospital, Iowa City. They saw him enroute home. Mr. and Mrs. William Dau, Sr. also spend the winters in the same location and they have started for home, but were at St. Petersberg, Fla. over Easter and will be in Algona soon thereafter. Klein's Farm Supply of Algona won second place in a national contest sponsored by Feed and Farm Supplier, a national magazine, in the "On-the-Farm Sales and Service" section. There were several categories of eompetiton. In the competitive bracket entered by DuWayne Klein here, the firm included Wayne Feeds, Agrico fertilizer, Hess & Clark, Dr. Mayfleld, Cojorado Cyanamid and Merck health products, Pride-of-the-FaYm and Walsh equipment and Hy-Line chicks.
