Tutt Ernest E. Tutt, 64, husband of Genevieve H. Page Tutt, died early Friday at his residence, 440 E. King after a lengthy illness. He was a son of the late Harry and Martha Weaver Tutt.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a self-employed barber for 30 years until his retirement in 1966. He was a member of American Legion Post 794 and Brotherly Love Lodge 228, B.P.O.E. of W. In addition to his widow, he leaves five sisters, Mrs. Anna Weaver, Newark, N.J.; Mrs.

Lowery G0LDSB0RO Harvey C. Lowery, 88, husband of Mrs. Lillie G. Lowery, of this place, died Friday morning at York Hospital. Mr.

Lowery had retired 21 years ago from the Penn Central Railroad. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, Coseytown, Franklin County. He formerly resided at Coseytown. Surviving also are two daughters, Mrs. Woodrow Miller and Mrs.

Paul May, both of here; a son, Gifford W. Lowery, of here; and 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Hill Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Thursday at home after a lengthy illness. Born in Marfrance, W. he was a son of the late Rev. William and Rose Harris Sr. Mr.

Harris had been employed by R. S. Noonan Inc. before his illness. In addition to his widow, Bernice Harris, Mr.

Harris is also survived by five children, Nora, Wilma, Henrietta, Rose, and Cindy Harris, all at home; six step-children, Cynthia, at home; Mrs. Cathy Delauder, David Dalton, Delores Dalton, Larry Dalton, all of York; John Dalton, serving in the U.S. Air Force; five brothers, Fred Harris, Wilmington, Clyde Harris, Asbury Park, N.J.; Frank and James Harris, both of Leslie, W. and Charles Harris, Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Orangedale and Shirley Harris, Winona, W. and Betty Harris.

Burns Switzer, 64, wife of John S. Switzer, 241 W. Chestnut died Thursday at 9:55 p.m. at Hanover General Hospital. Mrs.

Switzer, daughter of the late John and Anna Mummert Burns, was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and Sunday School. She operated a beauty parlor for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1968. She was a member of Hanover YWCA and its Joan Of Arc Club, Ladies' Auxiliary of Harold H. Bair Post 14, American Legion, and Sisters of the Knights of Pythias. Mrs.

Switzer was a graduate of Hanover High School. Her first husband, Emory P. Panebaker, died in July, 1942. Surviving also are a son, E. Ronald Panebaker, Wilmar Avenue; three grandchildren, one great grandchild; a stepdaughter, Mrs.

Clinch, 86, husband of Miriam Benson Clinch, 117 S. Richland died at 8:25 a.m. Friday at his residence. He was born in York, son of the late Andrew F. and Cora Litsinger Clinch.

He served as a sergeant first class with the 301st Ice Plant Co. during World War I and saw service in Europe for more than two years. Prior to entering the service he was associated with his lather in the A. F. Clinch and Son boiler business at Philadelphia and Broad streets.

After his discharge from the service he was a road engineer for York Manufacturing now York Division of Borg Warner Corp. and later was a roofing contractor until his retirement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and AARP. In addition to his widow, he leaves a son, Dr. Jack B.

Clinch, Wilmington, two granddaughters; four greatgrandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Sample, 371 E. Philadelphia St. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E.

Mrs. Samuel D. Kessler HANOVER Mrs. Elsie V. Kessler, 66, wife of Samuel D.

Kessler, 811 York died Wednesday at 9:10 a.m. at Hanover General Hospital. Mrs. Kessler was a daughter of the late George and Leah Miller Renoll. She was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of St.

Paul's (Dub's) Union. Church. Surviving also are a son, Mervin Kessler, 457 High and a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Johns, 257 Locust 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence Renoll, 2 Janet Melvin Renoll, Blooming Grove Road; Earl Renoll, 943 Linden and Richard Renoll, Spring Grove, and a sister, Mrs. Ada Slater, York.

John S. Fine to succeed Fred O. Strine, a Democrat, who had died April 28, 1953. A long-time member of the Republican Party, he served the remainder of Strine's unexpired term, ending in January, 1954. On Feb.

2, 1954, he was appointed county solicitor by the county commissioners and on Feb. 18, 1959, was named to the executive board of York County Republican Party. On Dec. 12, 1956, Atty. Elsesser was named solicitor to Recorder of Deeds Theodore Freed.

Prior to that he served as solicitor for the newly formed bureau of tax claims. Atty. Elsesser was a past president of Springetts and Mt. Rose Lions Clubs and the Young Republican Club. He was a board member of Little League Baseball and Catholic Charities.

He also was past commander of Catholic War Veterans and past president of Catholic Professional Men's Club. He was a member of the Lafayette Club, Country Club of York, Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph's Church. He was the son of Mrs. Mary C.

Elsesser, 199 S. Harlan and the late George M. Elsesser. Surviving also are three children, George Michael Elsesser III, Timothy Adam Elsesser and Faith Ann Elsesser, all at home. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m.

at Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia, where he had been admitted Thursday. Atty. Elsesser was a member of the law firm of W'ogan, Elsesser and Yost. He resided with his wife, Mrs. Arlene E.

Elsesser, at 108 N. Marshall St. Atty. Elsesser was graduated with honors from York Catholic High School in 1943. He was an honor student at Villanova University, Philadelphia, from which he graduated in 1945 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

In World War II, he served 37 months in the U.S. Navy, being discharged in 1946 as a lieutenant: He worked as an engineer for the J. E. Baker Co. until 1947, when he entered Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle.

He received his bachelor of law degree in 1950. Atty. Elsesser served his law clerkship with Atty. William W. W'ogan," and passed the" state bar examination in July, 1950..
