Robert S. Gettys Sr. A Dover Township man was found late Thursday morning Conewago Creek, an apparent drowning victim, less than two hours after he drove away from his home at 5551 Clearview Road. Pronounced dead at the scene was Robert S. Gettys 66, who was reported missing by his wife to Northern Regional Police about the time his body was found at 11:56 a.m.

by his grandson, Barry Ziegler, 649 State Spring Garden Township. He was pronounced dead about 1 p.m. by county coroner Kathryn L. Fourhman. His body was found in about six feet of water near Conewago Road, a mile and a half downstream from Detter's Mill Road, northwest of Dover.

Mr. Gettys, husband of Mrs. Alverta J. Hollerbush Gettys, was a 1 native of Adams County, son of the late Jacob and Mary Myers Gettys. He retired in 1974 after completing 19 years of service with the Cole Division of Litton Industries in York.

He was a member of Dover Fire Co. Also surviving are: Three sons, Dale Gettys, 1767 York York Area Deaths Hilton Dover; Richard E. Gettys, Manchester RD Robert S. Gettys, 2810 Hialeah Court; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth A.

Crone, 3660 Davidsburg Road; Mrs. Betty J. Sunday, 4900 Carlisle Road; Mrs. Evelyn F. Gumpper, 649 State Street; Mrs.

Donna L. Copenhaver. Kettering, Ohio: 19 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Trema Swift, 864 Fahs Mrs. Naomi Everhart, York Springs RD three brothers, William Gettys, Enola; Milton Gettys, York Springs RD 2, and Frank Gettys, Mechanicsburg.

Lau, 87, formerly of Franklintown, wife of the late A. B. Lau, died Thursday at Huntsville, where she resided the past two years. Mrs. Lau belonged to Emanuel Lutheran Church and of its Sunday School.

Zillessen Hans Meinhardt Zillessen. 74, a well-known artist whose wife was the former Irma Hoffman of Manchester, died April 9 in Sun City, where the couple had lived since 1972. Mr. Zillessen was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1926. He and his wife lived in Long Beach.

Long Island, N. during his New York career in which he specialized in nature art. His work can be found in the TimeLife Nature Library, in the McGra Living World of Nature series, in Groliers Encyclopedia and the Encyclopedia Britannica. His wife is his nearest survivor.
