On Sunday, March 13, Pamela and her family were guests of her maternal grandparents,"" On Glee Club Tour Vernell Ludwig, Algona, Rodney J. Smith of Swea City, and Sidney C. Banwart of West Bend, are all members of the Iowa State University men's glee club, which was slated to tour southern Iowa last week. To Enter College Barry Watkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. F. Watkins, and Ron Mittag, son of Mrs. Wayne Hansen of Algona, have been accepted for admission to Augustana College, Sioux Falls, for the fall semester. - o Tuesday evening, March 15, they were guests of her paternal grandmother, Mrs. CUra McCleflan, and aunt*, Mrs. Harold Meyer and Mrs. Leonard Wilson and girls. Mrs. Orv&le Hurlburtwas bos- tew to the Good Will Club March 17. Ten members were present. Mrs. Alvin Weber presided at the business meeting. The entertainment was presented by Mrs. Howard Swanson. Miss Emma Krause read poems and offered a prayer. A memorial service was held for a club member, Mrs. George Schnetzer, at the February 17 meeting. Mrs. Lee C. Wlttmeier was a guest at a prenuptial shower Sunday evening in the Ventura Lutheran Church. Her cousin, Miss Linda Ristau Thornton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ristau, was honored. The general meeting of the Woman's Society of Christian Service was held in the fellowship rooms of the Lu Verne Methodist Church March 16, with General Chairman, Mrs. Dale Zentner presiding. Mrs. Gerald, Ramus led the . devotions. Lesson study was given by Mrs. Bryan Stewart, assisted by Miss Myrtle Jordan, Mrs. William Goetsch, and Mrs. Roy A. Biesemeyer. Hostesses wer Mrs. Harold Wolf. Mrs. StaaleyGenrich. Mrs. R. C, WiniBi, Mrs. Laura Z wield, amd Miss Jordan. Algona Student In Dept. Music College Recital The College of Saint Teresa, Winona, Minn, department of music, will present Miss Susan Bode, pianist, at a College Series Recital on March 31 at the 11:15 a. m. Convocation period. Miss Bode, a freshman, will play three numbers, "Theme and Variations," Kabalevsky; "Loneliness," Khatchaturian; and "Polichinelle," Rachmani- noff. She is a student of Sister M. Ethelreda, O.S.F. , The 11:15 a. m. Recital will feature 15 students, all freshmen, Miss Bode is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Bode, Rural Route 2, Algona. No. Kossuth Boy Scout Meeting Received too late for publication last Thursday, due to the storm, was a news item from Richard O'Green of Swea City, telling u$ that the Swea City Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts were to be hosts to the troops from the north end of Kossuth county at a big Scouting show. We hope the show was held, that roads were open, and that the North Kossuth Scouts could make it. A Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts was to be one of the features of the program, and working demonstrations by the Scouts in\various jects.
