MR. AND MRS. Roy Stoffel's daughter Marilyn, was recently graduated from the Mankato Commercial college and they attended the services. Last Sunday they went to Rochester, Minn. to see her* She has a position as medical secretary at the Mayo clinic. GERALD Hartshorn has been here on a ten day visit with his sister, Genevieve. His home is at Evanston, m. where he has lived the past 20 years. It will be remembered his parents were Elmer and Lulu Hartshorn. Elmer was a popular barber. TED KELLEY has been at Burlington the past two weeks for steam bath treatments. MRS. JOE Llchter is a patient at the University hospital, Iowa City and relatives who have been Algona, (la.) Upper fas Molnes Tuesday, March 29, 1966 to see her recently are John Gisch, Mrs. William Specht, Mrs. Wilfred Kohlhaas, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gisch, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Arend and Mrs. Luke Hamilton, of Bancroft. They did not all go at the same time, however. Mrs. Uchter's son Bob has been here from Viet Nam and his brother Jim, a student at Duke University, N. C., has also been to see his mother. MR. AND MRS. John Stevenson have moved to a rural home on R. R. 1.. DICK Godfredson is on vacation in western states. NEIGHBORS GOOD AROUND THE TOWN & COUNTRY Meet Nick Thomsen Of Lakota Nick Thomsen, this week's Country Neighbor, farms a total of 440 acres with his oldest son, Larry, 2 1/2 miles east and 2 1/2 miles south of Lakota. During 1965 the Thomsons had 156 acres of corn, 140 acres of beans and 20 acres of hay ground. They also had 30 feeder cattle and 40 brood sows, from which they sell feeder pigs. Mr. Thomsen, who formerly farmed north of Wesley, has been on the present farm for 14 years. He was born in South Dakota, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glaus .Thomsen. Nick is a member of the Farm Bureau and a leader of the Aggressive Lads 4-Hclub. Fishing is his hobby and tending feeder cattle his favorite job on the farm. Mrs. Thomsen is the Former Edna Leonard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Leonard of the Laureiis area. They were married at Laurens in 1936. She is an assistant leader of the Lakota Luckies 4-H club, enjoys fishing and flowers. The Thomsons have two sons, Larry, at home, and Richard, who attends Estherville Junior College; and four daughters, Marlene (Mrs. Robert Sheldahl), Sunnyvale, Cal., Karen (Mrs. Rex Larson) and Sharleen (Mrs. Gary Spear), Lakota, and Joyce, Des Moines.
