4 Serving at no in DILLSBURG Daniel R. 63. formerly of Dillsburg RD 2, died Sunday morning at the Eckhardt Nursing Home, Liverpool, RD 1, after being stricken ill. A retired laborer, he was a son of the late George W. and Lucy M.

Leer Thomas. Surviving are six brothers, Clarence Thomas, Mt. Holly, Ralph R. Thomas, Aspers; Harry E. Thomas, Dover RD Bruce R.

Thomas, Palmdale, Adam W. Thomas, Camp Hill, and John W. Thomas, Mechanicsburg RD 7, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Thomas, Etters RD 2, and Mrs. Nellie Zinn, Stewartsville, N.J.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 N. Chestnut Dillsburg, with The Rev. John H. Beamer, an Assembly of God minister, officiating.

Interment will follow in Upper Bermudian Cemetery, near York Springs. Vernon E. Schafer Vernon E. Schafer, a former North York resident who had been residing at 9616 Auburndale Livonia, died Saturday. He was the husband of Mrs.

Mamie Shindler Schafer. Mr. Schafer had been employed 40 years at York Safe and Lock Co. and Diebold Inc. Also surviving are two children, Vernon E.

Schafer Farmington, and Mrs. Elmer Nealon, Lexington, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today from the HeeneyLundquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Road. Farmington, Mich. Mrs.

Ronald Yinger Mrs. Betty Marsh Yinger, 35, wife of Ronald Yinger, New Cumberland RD 2, died Sunday at 11:15 p.m. at Hershey Medical Center. Mrs. Yinger was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland.

Also surviving are three children, Michele, Nina and Douglas, all at home; her father, Paul Marsh, New Cumberland RD her mother, Mrs. Mary Marsh, New Cumberland; a brother, Paul Marsh Lewisberry RD 1, and a sister, Mrs. Sandra Bishop, New Cumberland RD 1. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Nelson E.

Urich Funeral Home, Lewisberry. The Rev. Calvin Cole, Mrs. Yinger's pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Emanuel Cemetery near Lewisberry.

William B. Kearns STEWARTSTOWN William B. Kearns, 88, husband of Mrs. Elizabeth M. Kearns, died Sunday at 8:20 p.m.

at his home in Stewartstown after a five-month illness. Mr. Kearns, a retired farmer, was a son of the late William Henry and Corrine Bartol Kearns. He was a member of Stewartstown Presbyterian Church and Sunday School; a charter member of Stewartstown Lions Club, and belonged also to Eureka Fire Co. and Friendship Lodge 663, and AM at Fawn Grove.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alice Pearce, York; two stepsons, S. Gene Allen, Glen Burnie, and Robert L. Allen, Stewartstown, and by five grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. George C. Lucabaugh NEW FREEDOM Mrs. Marie Stiffler Laucabaugh, wife of George C. Lucabaugh, 222 N.

Third died Monday at 8 a.m. at her home. She 68. Mrs. Stiffler was born Freeland, daughter of late George R.

and Bertha Brenneman Stiffler. She employed at American Insulator for 32 years before her retirement three years ago. She was a member of Lutheran Congregation of Jacob's (Stone) Union Church, near Glenville; Ladies' Auxiliary of Rose Fire Co. and the York Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Mr.

and Mrs. Lucabaugh celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary last month. Surviving also are: A son, Marvin D. Lucabaugh, New Freedom: two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary L.

Davis, and brother, Emory Stiffler, both of Maryland Line. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hartenstein Mortuary, Second at Franklin Street. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Richard C.

Jacob's Church Cemetery. George C. Piper. DILLSBURG George C. Piper, 94, died Monday at a.m.

at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Bitner, 56 Dogwood Lane, with whom he resided. Coroner Kathryn Fourhman attributed his death to natural causes. A retired farmer, Mr. Piper was a native of Shippensburg, a son of the late John and Phoebe Walker Piper.

Daugherty, 78, of 146 S. Charles who was one of the two original Dallastown mail carriers, died Monday at 9:20 a.m. at York Hospital, where he was admitted Sunday.

Husband of the late Mrs. Lillie M. Barnhart Daugherty, he was a native of Dallastown, son of the late William R. and Emma Amspacher Daugherty. Mr.

Daugherty, on assuming the mail carrier position, served the upper end of the borough, while the other carrier served the lower end. He was a cigar packer for the Winters Co. in later years. He belonged to Bethlehem United Methodist Church and had served overseas with the Army during World War I. He was a member of American Legion Post 605 of Dallastown, of which he served as commander in 1937, and was a member of Southern York of- Newburgh.

Bendon HANOVER Walter L. Bendon, 69, husband of Mrs. Regina Moul Bendon, 201 was Clearview Road, died Monday at 2:50 p.m. at Hanover in General Hospital. the Mr.

Bendon was a son of the M. late Michael and Fannie Hanig was Bendon. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific. Mr. Bendon was a member of Harold H.

Bair Post 14, the American Legion; Hanover St. Post 2506, Veterans Of Foreign Wars; Hanover Elks Lodge and Hanover Radio Club. He was a former deputy recreation commissioner of Philadelphia. Surviving also is a brother, William A. Bendon, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.

Beaver St. and Jefferson Ave. Trooper's Gun Shoots Corporal In Courthouse LANCASTER (UPI) State Police Cpl. Larry P. Wixon was shot accidentally Monday by another trooper inside the Lancaster County courthouse here, authorities said.

Wixon, 36, of Stroudsburg, was in good condition at Lancaster General Hospital. Police said Wixon and Troopers Elwood C. Noll, 26, Kennett Square, were in the courthouse's law library preparing to testify in a drunken driver case when the incident occurred. Police said Noll had a .25 caliber automatic pistol in a holster inside his right overcoat pocket and when he took the weapon out to strap onto his belt, the gun fell to the floor and discharged. Wixon, standing about three to five feet away, was hit in the upper right thigh.
