Arthur Traber of the Pomona Police Department will address the afternoon meeting of Pomona Navy Mothers Club on Tuesday. She obtained her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Walton serves as chairman of a facultv-student Commission or the Education of Women. Among the charges, the commission was asked to study and make recommendations concerning the employment opportunities for women. Commission members agreed that there is an urgent educational need for a substantial increase in the number of women on the faculty. Dr.

Walton pointed out that: Pomona College, like other colleges and universities, has been engaged in recruiting qualified women and minority 097 897 Mdr i omina Cl group teachers. There are a few more on the faculty each year, she added. Dr. Walton has also been active in programs to provide broader opportunities for the study cf questions related to the changing role of women in society. She spent a year as Fulbright Lecturer in Counseling and Guidance at Japan University in Tokvo, in 1955-56.

In 1972, she spent the fall semester traveling within the United States studying recent developments in the Movement and considering their impact on undergraduate education. Since the returning, Dr. Walton has worked with a student group, Conc Women of and has spoken frequently in the valley. As a person who loves travel and the out-of-doors, the busy dean still finds time to garden and hike. Her travels have taken her to Europe, the Orient and Africa.

After receiving her well-deserved award, Dr. Walton will remain in Chicago for the week-long conference which is expected fo draw several thousands delegates.
