Karolyn Redd, George Lackey Engaged; Will Wed April 18 Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Redd of Union Furnace announce lie engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Karolyn Ann, to George M. Lackey, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Chester I). Lackey, 590 K. Front St. Miss Redd graduated from Starr Washington High School and from Holzer Hospital school of nursing, Gallipolis.

She is presently employed as a registered nurse in Ihe operating room at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Mr. Lackey graduated from Logan High School and attended Ohio University Lancaster Branch. He is presently associated with the Penney Co. of Logan.

The open church wedding will be an event of April 18 at 6:30 p.m., at the Trinity United Draper To Speak At Capital Mothers Club Robert M. Draper, prominent Columbus attorney, will be the guest speaker at the annual Capital University Mothers Club reception to be held on Sunday, March 15, at 3 p.m. in the Campus Student Center. Former Franklin County common pleas court judge and U.S. attorney for Southern Ohio, Draper will address the faculty members of Capital as well as parents of students and their guests.

Besides his widespread legal experiences he has been a delegate to two Democratic National Conventions, a member of the Columbus Board of Education for 12 years and a teacher of Bible classes at St. Lutheran Church for 37 years. He is currently an instructor in trial technique at Franklin Law School of Capital University. Hostesses for this annual occasion are Mrs. Robert Pymer, Mrs.

Robert Heilman, Mrs. Alvin Ahrens and Mrs. Henry Schuh. Social committee members include Mrs. A.

V. Hartlerode, Mrs. G. C. Gast and Mrs.

W. A. Martin. Methodist Church, 105 W. Hunter Logan.

A reception for invited guests only will be held immediately following the ceremony at the church. Methodist Circles Hear Book Review By Mrs. Robinson A book review was presented when WSCS Day was recently observed at Immanuel United Methodist Church. Thirty members of Lydia and Esther circles met in the chapel. Mrs.

Neal Dillon, Lydia Circle leader, called the meeting to order, followed with prayer by Mrs. Hugh Robinson. Members then retired to the dining room where members of the Lydia Circle served breakfast of coffee and assorted rolls Irom a table attractive in patriotic February decor. Mrs. Ralph Robinson, WSCS president, gave a vivid review of the book Taste of New by Keith Miller in which the author states that the faith he has now is more potent than ever before and likens it to new wine in all its freshness.

After Mrs. interesting talk, Esther Circle held a white elephant sale. Mrs. Catherine Armstrong Feted On 76th Birthday Mrs. Catherine Armstrong of Union Furnace was honored Sunday at a family dinner at her home.

The occasion was in celebration of her 76th birthday. After dinner and the serving of a decorated birthday cake, Mrs. Armstrong enjoyed visiting with her family and also opened many lovely gifts. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs.

Everett Blackburn and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Young and children Kenna, Dwayne and Melanie, all of Gahanna, and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pinson of Columbus.

Unable to attend were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Cremean and daughter Julia of Columbus. HYSELL Mr. and Mrs. Oakley J. Hysell, 223 Washington Lancaster, formerly of Logan, will be guests of honor at a golden wedding anniversary celebration given by their granddaughter Miss Frances Pearl Cooke, on Sunday, March 8, at the Logan Federal community room. Relatives and friends are invited to call between 1 and 4 p.m.

Mrs. Hysell, the former Eva Funk, and Mr. Hysell were married March 6, 1920, by the Rev. S. R.

Shaw, at the parsonage of the United Brethren Church in Lancaster. Now 72, Mrs. Hysell was born Jan. 3, 1898, in Hocking County, daughter of Edwin Funk, who lives with the Hysells, and the late Hattie Snider Funk. She is a past worthy matron of Venus Chapter 76, Order of the Eastern Star, from which organization she recently received her 50- year pin.

Mrs. Hysell also is a member of the Emblem Club, the Starlight Club and the First Church of Christ, E. Main ca Room, 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Gertie Waldron, hostess.

Hysell, also 72, was born Dec. 1, 1897, at Pomeroy, son of the late Grant and Emma Stiff Hysell. He retired as Logan lire chief in 1959. Mr. Hysell is a member of the Masons and the Elks and a past president of the Eagles, all of Logan.

The Hysells have a daughter Mrs. Mary Cooke Donaldson of Logan and a granddaughter Frances Pearl Cooke who makes her home with the Hysells in Lancaster. Mrs. Bob LeClain Guest Of Honor At Baby Shower Mrs. Robert LeClain (Nancy Wilson), .303 W.

Second was guest of honor at a recent baby shower at the Logan Federal community room. Hostesses were Mrs. James Wilson and Mrs. Andy Ucker. The guest of honor received a number of gifts.

Nelle Webb was presented her 50-year pin by Mrs. Ruth Rees. Past matrons and past patrons were welcomed and also recognized was Mrs. Ruby Schein, mother advisor of the Rainbow Girls. The District 27 meeting of the Past Matrons and Past Patrons Association will be held at 7:30 p.m., March 19, at the Masonic Temple, Thornville.

Initiation of 1969 matrons and patrons will be a part of this meeting. It was announced that cookbooks compiled by Venus Chapter will be out in April with $1.25 the cost of each. Refreshments were served by Mrs. May Graham and Mrs. Freda Willige.

Members ol Premier Mothers Club were hostesses to a husbands dinner party held Thursday evening at Blosser party room. Mrs. E. Murphy, president, gave the address of welcome. Each member introduced her husband.

Grace was given by Mrs. Harry Mock. Get-acquainted games were enjoyed and also group singing with Mrs. Ralph Larimer accompanying at the piano. Members and husbands in at- Lancaster ABWA Will Have Annual Chapeau Luncheon The Wyandot chapter of the American Business Association of Lancaster, will hold their 9th annual Champagne Chapeau Luncheon on Saturday, March 14, at Steak House in downtown Lancaster at 12:30 p.m.

Designer, Dorothy Hutton, will be there with her original creations and Nita Hutch Bethel will narrate the show. In addition to the hat show there will he a wig showing by Lancaster Beauty Supply.
