Penney Stcte Mainly About To Open In Logan Friday People A new (' Penney Co. department store will hold its grand opening in Kogan Friday and Saturday 10'a months after the business was burned out in one of the biggest fires in history. The Penney store will I at its same location, 12 Mam as burned out block has Ireen rt built hy owner Theo Johnson of Logan. has been in operation in Kogan since 1928. The only other time the business was closed was in 1942, when another fire closed the store for two months.

The new store has all new fixtures. attractive interior decora lion and modern lighting. It is very well stocked with all new items in clothing, shoes, luggage, piece go-wts, and home furnishings. An Army veteran of three years, he served in the Pacific Theater during rid War II. The new store has a total of 5,276 square feet of sales area, including 3,166 on the main level and 2 110 in the dowrstairs store. Another 1.580 square feet in the basement is used for storage. An upstairs section at the front of the building contains 505 square led fur manager's office, cash office and lounge p'd with individual lockers. Fifteen persons, including extras mr Fridays and Saturdays, have been employed in the new store.

One new feature will be the exclusive use of cash registers, replacing old cash carrier system used in the former Penney store.
